Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here on some easy tips you can follow that can help you feel better if you are having a rough day.
- Look for opportunities to laugh! Laughing helps release endorphins, our bodies’ feel-good hormones.
- Get enough sleep. Adults usually need eight to ten hours of sleep each night. If you find you are struggling to fall asleep or stay asleep, try limiting technology use prior to bed and having a consistent night routine. Having a cup of (decaffeinated) tea and reading are great ways to wind down and signal your brain that it’s time to get ready for bed.
- Exercise as appropriate. Exercise is as good for our emotional health as it is for our physical health. It increases serotonin levels, leading to improved mood and energy. Choose something you enjoy — this can be anything from running around with your younger siblings or playing fetch with your dog, to lifting weights or practicing yoga.
- Be kind to yourself. You spend the most time with yourself, so make sure your relationship with the person in the mirror is a positive one. This is something you can practice and can be as simple as saying you’re proud of yourself today.
- Stay connected. Even with physical distancing guidelines in place, you can stay connected to friends and loved ones through technologies like video calls and phone calls. Lean on your social support networks if you feel overwhelmed or lonely — we are all experiencing this uncertain time together.
MAY 28 CHANGES TO "BLACK" SCHEDULE DAY FOR HYBRID STUDENTS
In order to accommodate final exams for all students, Friday, May 28th will now be a black scheduled day. Thursday, May 27th, and Friday, May 28th will be final exam days at Warren Central High School. Please avoid scheduling appointments and vacations on these dates.
COVID-19 VACCINE - AGES 16 AND OLDER are now eligible for the COVID vaccine.
Families making appointments for teens who are 16 or 17 years old will need to make sure they are selecting a location offering the Pfizer vaccine.
Anyone younger than 18 who wants to get vaccinated will need permission from a parent or guardian.
MOORHEAD COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER SERVICES
If you have needs beyond what is being offered, you can call our outreach hotline at 317-608-0545 or email at MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us with your request.
