The Kill Order
By: Emily Kehoe
The Kill Order is a science fiction book by James Dashner. This is the last book in The Maze Runner Series
The main characters in The Kill Order are Mark (teen), Alec (retired soldier), Trina (teen), and Deedee (about 4-5 years old) .
Mark and Trina start out as very good friends and eventually fall in love. Trina and Deedee are like sisters. Mark and Alec are very good friends (Alec saves Mark several times). Deedee and Mark are friends- Mark makes sure Deedee is taken care of when Trina's not there. Alec and Trina are friends. Alec and Deedee don't get to know each other very well, but Alec still cares for Deedee.
The setting isn't very specific, but it is a futuristic, dystopian USA. People live in small villages. The final destination is a town called Asheville.
Some big ideas in The Kill Order are love, friendship, survival, fight, bravery, care, trust, and kindness.
A nasty, highly contagious disease breaks out. The disease is called The Flare. This happens because people from the PFC (Post Flare Coalition) feel the world is overpopulated, so they shoot people with darts containing the disease. Mark, Trina, Alec, Misty, Toad, Deedee, and Darnell must find a way to escape The Flare and attempt to find a cure. Who will die along the way?
I would definitely recommend this book because it is a great way to end The Maze Runner Series. It tells what happens before the other 3 books in the series. The Kill Order keeps you wondering what's going to happen and it is filled with action.
