What we know:
• Ageing teaching force - disconnect between us and them
• Science last year replaces science this year
• Everything is hyper-connected - people, knowledge, economies, politics, nature
• Half the world's population is under 30.
Interesting fact of today:
A workplace with five generations shows diversity and forward thinking to allow our young people to feel connected. - It is up to the oldest generation to keep pace with learning and innovation.. (we have five generations here at IPS - (Teens) ( 20’s l) , (30’s) , (40’s ,(50’s) , (over 50)
We also know:
• 50% of NZ workforce are millennials
• People over 55 make up 15% of the world population
• Digital human - virtual encyclopaedia
• 5 more years of keyboard before we go voice recognition

Linkhorne Rugby & Burkhart Netball:
Linkhorne Rugby- Next week our First XV have two important games in their quest to be Linkhorne champions. After a hard-fought victory over Stratford Primary, the team lost narrowly 19-15 to St Joseph's in horrid conditions in Hawera last week.
On Monday, September 3 they play Bell Block school at 10.30 and on Friday 7 September, Mangorei school at 12.30. Both games are at IPS.
Cross Country
School Cross Country: This event went ahead on Wednesday in almost perfect conditions for cross country. Thanks to all parents, family and caregivers who came along to support all runners.
All students involved can be proud of the resilience and determination they showed in completing the course, despite moist underfoot conditions. A list of place getters will be included in next weeks newsletter.
Cluster Cross Country: Those students who have qualified for the clusters event will bring home an information slip today, detailing the event which is held Tuesday 4 September at TET., beginning at 12.15. Parent Link will be selling Sausages and Drinks and we have a coffee caravan also at the event.
