Boat House Spirit - Let's Hear It

The week of Feb. 2-7 was filled with a "boat-load of spirit". Students from our house participated in a variety of dress-up days and lunch-time challenges, as well as a contest of bringing in food for The Giving Tree. Everything wrapped up on Friday during the assembly in the gym when students participated in an obstacle course and catastrophe activity.

In the Classroom . . . .

Math - We will be taking the unit 4 post-test on Tuesday or Wednesday. Students will need to know how to find the surface area of prisms and pyramids. Our next unit will be using algebra.

Language Arts - We will be comparing and contrasting different types of text. Our next focus will be moving into informational text and foundations in vocabulary.

Science - Students are learning about different text structures and how to use appropriate graphic organizers for taking notes. We are using content from chapter 2 in the astronomy textbook. Check Schoology for specific details.

Social Studies -Mrs. Ceaglske and Mrs. Treml, Lineville's fabulous Library Media Specialist, are working together to do a digital project about The Great Depression. They are integrating technology such as Doctupus, Noodletools, and Destiny Quest using the iPads.

Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Up - Feb. 10

We would like to encourage all parents to schedule a conference time so we can share successes and make plans for finishing the year strong with your child. Please contact Mrs. Ceaglske or Mrs. Lemberger to schedule a meeting outside of the designated conference nights if you would like to talk with us sooner or if you feel you would like to meet for more than ten minutes.
