"Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations."
Fall Parties - Friday, October 29th!
You should be seeing flyers come home soon from your homeroom parents and/or child's teacher with more information about the fall parties.
Students may wear their costumes to school on Oct. 29. Please remember that costumes should be appropriate for school and respectful of race, religion, and ethnicity. Props (swords, shields, etc.) should be left at home. Faces should be free of paint, makeup and costume masks. Hats may be worn.
Costumes must be culturally sensitive in nature and should be respectful of the backgrounds and heritage of others. What might seem like a harmless and fun costume can be highly offensive to students and/or groups of students. Ethnic, religious, and various other themed costumes that serve as stereotypes of groups are not appropriate and do not reflect the respect for all people that we wish to embody at Washington. Please be thoughtful in your costume choices and reach out to Dr. Connery, Mrs. Lowery or Mr. Graham before the big day if you have any questions about what might or might not be appropriate.
The expectation is still that students wear masks, per our safety protocols, on the party day as well with their costume.
We want this to be a fun day for our students but will continue to follow our safety protocols.
