CSD Updates
Complete Your Learning Choice Selection as Soon as Possible
Please be sure to complete your Learning Choice Selection as soon as possible. Just log into the Parent Portal to make your selection. Your selection will assist in the planning of the next phase of our dual in-person and virtual learning structure. The sooner you respond, the sooner we can finalize our plans; please make it a priority to respond as soon as possible. For more information, refer to the email that was sent on October 1 which you can find here: https://www.smore.com/vy037.
Important Message from Our CSD Nutrition Department
CSD Meal Service will continue with its current meal distribution delivery process until October 30. Meal Service distribution will transition to pick-up only on November 2.
The school district will continue delivering meals until October 30th for digital learners and any child under the age of 18 (or under the age of 21 for youth with special needs) on each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until October 30. If you have any additional questions, you can email meals@csdecatur.net.
From the Decatur Education Foundation
DEF needs mentors, could one of them be you? DEF is seeking 15 adult volunteer mentors for their AIM Scholars Mentoring Program. AIM mentors are paired with 3rd grade students and “meet” regularly throughout the year. In just 2-4 hours per month, mentors help connect their mentees with educational and enrichment activities so they can find their passions and develop life skills. For more information, please visit decatureducationfoundation.org/mentoring.
Walk Anywhere Week is October 5-9!
Safe Routes to School invites families to “walk anywhere” this week, as part of our “Walk and Roll to School." Share your photos on social media!
Annual Update
The deadline to complete the annual update has been extended. For your convenience, directions to access the annual update and complete are shown below.

PTO Updates
Save the Date: Talley Reading Rally begins Friday, October 9!
Please join the Talley PTO for the first ever Reading Rally fundraiser on Friday, October 9 - Friday October 16! Our goal is to read 75,000 minutes in 7 days! This fundraiser will work much the same as read-a-thons you may have participated in at other schools. The big difference is that this one is going to be online. The PTO website is where you will track minutes read and collect donations. You will need a user account to set up a campaign.
Starting Monday, 10/12, each day of the Reading Rally will have a theme.
Monday, 10/12 - Find your favorite reading spot
Tuesday, 10/13 - Read in your pJs
Wednesday, 10/14 - Read a spooky story (or an animal story if you don’t like spooky)
Thursday, 10/15 - Read outside
Friday, 10/16 - Dress up like your favorite book character
Stay tuned for more details!
Please contact Kim Mohl or Sara Weathersby with any questions at fundraising@talleypto.org.
