What is BULLYING?
It is RUDE when someone does or says something once that is unintentionally hurtful.
Ways to respond: Tell them politely how it made you feel or ask an adult to help you talk it out.
It is MEAN when someone does or says something once that is intentionally hurtful.
Ways to respond: Tell them politely how it made you feel and tell them to stop, or walk away and ask an adult for help to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
It is BULLYING when there is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has been repeated over time. Bullying can take place in many forms such as in person and through social media and can cause emotional and physical harm.
How to respond: Tell a trusted adult immediately and be sure they report it to your Principal, Vice Principal or Dean of Students so they are able to investigate, document and put a plan in place to STOP it.
