A Message From Our Principal

Dear HFCS Community,

I want to thank you for a great first quarter! Our second quarter is going well, too: in the last two weeks alone we have had an amazing parent and student turnout for the Home and School Association/Art Enrichment Night, as well as, a great Pep Rally, Honors Assembly, and National Junior Honor Society Induction!

Last Wednesday morning many parents joined me for a very lively and productive Coffee and Conversation. We had an informal focus group: the parents broke into three groups, wrote their 5 GREAT Things about HFCS/5 Areas that Need Improvement, and then shared their thoughts. What a great sharing and listening session we had - thank you!

I invite parents, teachers and staff to participate in this same process in survey form, please submit your survey by November 15. I will share the results with you at a HFCS evening event in January, date TBD.

Your responses to this survey, and our future sharing and listening session, will help us celebrate our strengths and shape the next phase of HFCS strategic planning and marketing. Here is the link to the anonymous survey: https://forms.gle/18wEs5FWAERrQuVc8 I look forward to hearing your voice through this survey!

Holy Family, Pray for us!

Sister Teresa Vu

Teaching in a Catholic school is a vocation which allows me to share in the Church’s mission. I am able to share not only my knowledge about the faith, but I am also able to live and be a witness of Christ with my students. Through every lesson that I plan, I am given the privilege and opportunity to instill within my students’ minds and hearts a love for God and for the teachings of the Catholic Church. Teaching my students about the Catholic Faith has strengthened my own knowledge and relationship with God. I am able to practice and live my faith daily through study, prayer, reflections, and by example. Coming to teach at Holy Family Catholic School, I feel like I am a part of the family. Everyone here is very nice, kind, and generous in reaching out to me. I am grateful for all that I have received from all of the members of this community.

Good Gourd!

Mrs. Szostek's 2nd graders have been busy! Each student selected a storybook, chose a character from the story, and created the character by decorating a pumpkin. The students then wrote a book report about the story and gave a presentation to the 1st grade class. What a wonderful way to work on reading, writing, art, and presentation skills!

Leadership Council Service Project

Did you know that there are nearly 1,800 people in the city of Fort Worth that are homeless?Starting next week, the Middle School Leadership Council will be collecting warm hat, scarves, and gloves for the homeless in our area. Since winter weather will soon be here, we know these items will be greatly needed by those who have little or no protection from the cold.

  • Pre-K 3 through Kindergarten - warm winter hats
  • 1st though 4th grades - gloves or mittens
  • 5th through 8th - scarves

Donations will be accepted from November 4 to November 14.

Thank you for supporting those in most need in our community.
