Each parent/guardian is required to login the Infinite Campus Parent Portal (link below) and complete the registration for each student you have enrolled in school. Congratulations to Dr. Walter White and the Lyon Middle School choir class. On April 12 they travelled to Las Vegas to participate in the CCSD Choir Festival. The group received a SUPERIOR rating from the judges. They also had judges meet with them after and tell them what a great job they did and what great students they are. Thank you Dr. White and our Choir students for representing Lyon Middle School and the entire Moapa Valley in such an positive way. GO MARINERS!!!

What is Hope Squad?

We are excited to have the W. Mack Lyon Middle School Hope Squad up and running for this school year. Hope Squad is a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program. Hope Squad members are nominated by their classmates as trustworthy peers and trained by advisors. The program reduces youth suicide through education, training, and peer intervention.

We are grateful to those students that serve on the Hope Squad as well as the advisors for the group. Thank You

Beginning the week of April 17, LMS Counselor Amy May will be meeting with our current 6th and 7th Grade students to choose elective courses for the 2023-24 school year. Your student will bring home a form that they can use to choose their electives. This form will be returned to Ms. May at the school. Please note that for 8th grade students, Spanish and Algebra I are for high school credit and will count towards graduation requirements.

Parents/Guardians, please continue to send notes with your student for any absence. Also, you do not need to send a note for a tardy student as it will not be excused. We would ask if your student is out for a doctor appointment, please bring a note from the doctor upon your return. Thank You

The following protocols are in place at Lyon Middle School to provide a safe environment for our students to learn.

• The front door will be locked during school hours. Please use the doorbell and a member of the office staff will assist you. If someone does not answer the door, please call the number posted
• Students cannot be released by a phone call to the office.
• If you need to pick up your student for an early release, you will need to come to the school to sign them out. Please be prepared to provide identification.
• Please be patient with the office staff as they call your student to the office. Depending on where they are at the time, this may take a few minutes. Please plan accordingly.
• Students will not be released to any person that is not listed in Infinite Campus.
