Red Ribbon Day at JBE
Student Led Conferences
This week our students in grades 1-5 will be conducting their student led conferences. Student led conferences reflect the belief that students should be actively involved in their learning and assume responsibility for the learning process. Through student led conference, students become more motivated, reflective and evaluative. They also become more critical in their approach to learning.
We certainly hope that you'll be able to make it to your student's conference.

Car Line Reminders
Just a couple of reminders:
-Be ready prior to being in the car line with all papers signed and book bags ready to depart the car. It's never too early to start teaching students to unbuckle and buckle themselves in each day.
-If at all possible, have students seated in the back passenger side of the car for easy exit and entrances into the car.
-No passing other cars unless instructed by a faculty member to do so.
-Pull all the way up to the next available cone when dropping off or picking up students.
-Keep music in car at a low volume level.
As a reminder, it is best if you are changing the way your student is to get home that you send a note with the student to the child's teacher.
Additionally, students cannot be dismissed from the front office after 2pm for security and supervision issues.
If your student rides the bus or you would like to have your student on a bus, please be sure to call the bus office at 594-4423 for assistance.
-Our walkers must cross at the cross walk. If you walk to pick up your student, meet them at the stop sign where the teachers will bring our students.
-Picking up students in cars as walkers cannot be done in the front parking lot. We do not have any traffic moving in the front parking lot while our walkers are present.
-We will not allow students to walk unattended in the parking lot to meet a parent/guardian.
-Students in 5K and 1st grade are not allowed to walk home alone.
-Please be reminded that the HOA of Fernwood Condos and the ownership of MeadowGreens Apts have informed us that any vehicles parked in their parking lots during arrival or dismissal are subject to towing.
