Springville Cares Update
Thank you to all of you who have already signed up for our Springville Cares initiative; your generosity is truly inspiring! We have many of our sign-up slots filled already and are so delighted! With your help, we will be able to help almost 40 children in our community! We do still need some slots filled for gift cards; those are an invaluable resource for some of our families who find themselves unexpectedly in need. Sign up and find the specifics here.
Donations will be collected this coming Monday (Dec. 14) from 11am-12pm and from 5pm-6pm at the main entrance of the school (the parent parking lot). We have so many clothing and shoe donations coming in; please label each item with the family # indicated in SignUp Genius so that we can make sure they get to the correct children! Toiletries, gift cards, and household items do not need to be labeled.
Questions can be sent to volunteers@springvillepto.org.
PTO volunteer needs
Springville families, the PTO needs your help as a volunteer for the role of Secretary. The Secretary is part of the PTO board decision making and is responsible for tracking meeting minutes when necessary. If you want to be a part of the Springville PTO, please contact Springville PTO president (president@springvillepto.org ).
The time commitment is about 1 hour every other week, mostly to attend the PTO meetings and document minutes.
Send Smiles
No Holiday cards? No problem! Send us a note. Tell us how you are doing. Include a picture. Make a drawing. Anything!
We would love to have a little something form you to hang in our staff room and keep our hearts warm this winter!

Earn funds for the PTO with your purchases
Did you know YOU can raise money for Springville PTO as you shop simply by linking your preferred customer accounts to Springville PTO?
2 of the most common donations come from Amazon Smiles and Fred Meyer Community Rewards. Link your accounts and watch the donations grow.
New to Amazon Smiles? Here is some information on how to get setup:
AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support your favorite charitable organization every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you’ll find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to your favorite charitable organization. You can choose from over one million organizations to support. The donation comes directly from Amazon and is not added to the amount you pay for your items.
How do I shop at AmazonSmile?
To shop at AmazonSmile simply go to smile.amazon.com from the web browser on your computer or mobile device. You may also want to add a bookmark to smile.amazon.com to make it even easier to return and start your shopping at AmazonSmile.
Can I use my existing Amazon.com account on AmazonSmile?
Yes, you use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, and other account settings are also the same.
How do I select a charitable organization to support when shopping on AmazonSmile?
On your first visit to AmazonSmile smile.amazon.com, you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. After the initial setup, every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation. At smile.amazon.com, type “Springville PTO” in the search box. When Springville PTO in Portland OR pops up in the results, click on “select.” You’re all set!
New to Fred Meyer Community Rewards? Here is how to get it setup
Community Rewards makes fundraising easy by donating to the Springville PTO based on the shopping you already do every day. Once you link your card to the PTO, all you have to do is shop at Fred Meyer stores and swipe your Shopper's Card!
A digital account is needed to participate in Community Rewards. Log in to your account and update the “Fred Meyer Community Rewards” section. Type “Springville PTO” into the search option, select it from the list, and click “Save.”
Once you’ve done that, any transactions using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program. It takes approximately 10 days for the Community Rewards total to begin displaying on your receipt.
Corporate matching on donations and volunteer hours
Springville PTO is a registered 501(c)(3) entity and can be found within the non-profit list of some of our local companies.
As we approach end of 2020, please take advantage of both employer matching and end of year tax deductions!

Welcome Springville Volunteers!
Volunteering in the 2020-21 school year will be unlike previous years. Although we are unsure what remote volunteer needs will be, we invite you to create a volunteer profile or update your existing profile. This will ensure you are able to help Springville staff and students through volunteer work as opportunities arise. A volunteer profile is required for all volunteering within BSD schools. Please follow the steps below to update or create your volunteer profile.
Existing BSD Volunteers (new to Springville)
Please send an email to update_volunteer_locations@beaverton.k12.or.us and request to add Springville K-8 to the organizations listed in your mVP account. Provide your full first and last name as it appears in your profile. If you will no longer be volunteering at other schools in the district, you may also request to remove those schools from your profile.
New BSD Volunteers
If you are a new volunteer to the Beaverton School District, you must create a volunteer account. This process includes a background check.
If you are a…
- Parent/Guardian: Complete the Parent/Guardian Volunteer Application
- Community Volunteer: Complete the Community Volunteer Application (This applies to grandparents, nannies, neighbors, etc.)
- Youth Volunteers: Complete the Youth Volunteer Application
Within the application, please include all of the BSD schools where you would like to be a volunteer. You will have one profile for all your BSD volunteering. This step also initiates a background check. It will come up for renewal every 2 years.
IMPORTANT: Remember your log in and password! This is important for both home and school access to your profile. Make it easy to remember and/or keep it accessible. For more information, visit BSD's volunteer website.
Thank you for giving your time and talents to Springville this school year!
