ASBGV Annual Holiday Charity Drive 2020
Every year during the holiday season the ASBGV High School Student Council partners with a local organization here in Thailand as a way to give back to our community as well as teach our students the importance of caring for those less fortunate.
This year, ASBGV will be partnering with the Ruth Center. The Ruth Center is a local organization that helps care for elderly people living alone in 15 communities throughout the Prawet District. The Ruth Center’s staff visit the elderly regularly, providing them with both the basic necessities they need to survive, as well as spending time with them and helping them watch their grandchild. The Ruth Center also carries out many construction projects to help fix roofs, sidewalks, bathrooms, floors, and other parts of the home to help ensure their living conditions are adequate.
This year, ASBGV is asking our community to help The Ruth Center by donating any of the following items below:
- Clothes (any age and size)
- Shoes (any size)
- Blankets
- Towels
- Toys, Children Books, and Stationary
The clothing drive will run from Monday, November 30th until Wednesday, December 9th, 2020. 100% of the items donated will be sent to The Ruth Center to be distributed during the holiday season. In addition, the house team to donate the most items will win 200 points. There are house color collection bins located outside of the principal’s office where donated items can be placed.
Thank you for your support and for helping make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate in our community. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Ms. Alissa in the Principal’s Office.
Mindfulness for Parents
Air Pollution Safety @ ASBGV
As the air pollution season is approaching quickly, ASBGV recommends that all parents begin purchasing filtration masks for their children while supplies are in stock. It is important that the filtration mask remove dust and pollution particles, such as PM10, PM 2.5, and PM 0.3, and should be labeled as N99 or N95. We also ask that parents continue sending in masks with their children to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well, as many masks cannot prevent both COVID and air pollution simultaneously.
