Very Important Information:
1. Homework packet this week
Your students ONLY have spelling and vocabulary coming home with them this week! Ms. Minor and I have decided that since we have taken Unit tests in Reading/ELA and Math and we will be introducing all new topics... we will give our students this week to work on their Cultures Around the World project - use this week to research and work on your project! This project is due on Friday, March 25th.
2. Study Island Extra Credit
Uploaded and ready for your students! Remember... this is more practice with the skills we are learning together in the classroom. It's a great way for your child to practice at home!
2. Dr. Seuss Day FUN!
We had a blast on Wednesday celebrating Dr. Seuss day. We traveled to different elementary rooms, heard different Seuss stories, participated in fun games, did a Science project, planted seeds, made some crafts, and did a Math activity! It was SO much fun. A big thank you to all of the parent volunteers. Make sure you check out our photos on the Homeroom App :)
3. S.T.E.A.M. Camp at FSA
Make sure you check out the information Mr. Sener sent earlier this week about the summer camp opportunities here at FSA. This is a fun way to spend a few weeks of the summer learning and exploring!
5. Bring in BOX TOPS for NJHS
The class who brings in the MOST wins the competition and a dress down day! We have a bag full already.... let's keep them coming!

Curriculum Corner
Reading/Language Arts:
This week we will begin Unit 5 of our Reading Street curriculum. We will continue to practice summarizing stories using nicely written paragraphs. Students will be introduced to pronouns in Language Arts. In Reading, we will continue to practice Facts and Opinions. This unit, we will go more in depth with inferencing and implied facts and opinions. Our story for the week is called Fire Fighter.
Ms. P's Math Class:
We have finished our Measurement Unit! Your students have worked hard! This week we will begin our chapter on Mental Math and Estimation. We will be practicing adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers using Mental Math and Estimation to help solve problems QUICKLY.
Ms. Minor's Math Class:
Ms. Minor's class will be testing over the metric system on Monday! Students are coming home with the study guide in their folder today. Please make sure they review the conversions for length, mass, and volume! :) We will begin a new unit study on Fractions on Tuesday!
Science:
We are continuing our unit on Living Things: Plants and Animals. This week we will discuss food chains and create an in-class project to demonstrate a food chain. We will also talk about fossils!
Social Studies:
We are continuing ou culture study in Social Studies! We are learning all about people and the different cultures all around the world. Don't forget... your students should be researching and working on their Cultures Around the World Project!
