Mrs. Donoho's Weekly Newsletter

Week of 9/12-9/16

Another fun and busy week under our belt! The children are really starting to get the hang of our daily routines! They are practicing sitting for circle time and how we stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and put our right hand over our heart.

We talked about our shape of the month, the circle, and were able to make red circles with apples and paint! Fun!! We certainly were able to discuss and learn a lot about apples this week! We used all of our senses when observing them. Thank you to our friends that brought in snack this week! We not only got to taste apples and relate it to our theme of the month, our fruit today was RED...strawberries! I love when we are able to have learning experiences at unexpected times!

We used our special "Magic Markers" (our pointer fingers) to write the letters A and B, and the number one in the air for practice. Ask your child which color they used! I loved some of the answers, rainbow sparkles may be my favorite! We will continue to practice "sky writing" to promote letter recognition and gross motor skills. Practicing at home is always encouraged!

Thank you to all who ordered from Scholastic! Your order has been sent and the books will arrive at school shortly.

As always, THANK YOU for sharing your little ones with us! We absolutely love coming to work each day to spend time with your children! Getting to know each of their personalities is so much fun! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
