Academic team wins big at New Albany Invitational
The SHS math, social studies, and science academic teams placed first on March 17 at the Academic Team Invitational at New Albany High School.
The SHS academic teams had great success with three teams winning first place. The social studies team only missed one question, scoring 24 out of 25 questions correctly. The science teams — both Team B and Team A — won first and second places, respectively.
“I see really good things for us,” said Jason Hudson, academic team coordinator and math teacher at SHS. “I think we have a good shot at sending some teams to state this year.”
The English team tied for second place, but after several tie-breaker questions, the team ended up finishing fourth. The interdisciplinary team won third place.
The SHS academic team placed third overall out of 12 teams. The academic team will travel to the Area Competition on April 19 at Austin High School.
Great Performance by our SHS show Choir.
