A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL JENSON
Greetings!
Well the first week of Distance Learning is in the books. While it might have started a little rocky I believe that things have started to begin our new normal for school this month. On behalf of the ROCORI teachers I've communicated with this past week, I'd like to thank students and parents for their helpful feedback and perseverance with all the changes in the way we're teaching and learning. The instruction and learning is truly going both directions daily!
As we look ahead to the coming weeks please know we are all in this together for one common purpose and that is to try and to provide the best education possible under these new conditions. Continue to reach out for help if you need and I recommend starting with your child’s teacher first and if they cannot help you they can direct you to the appropriate person who can.
For senior parents we are still planning on graduation. Now it may not be the original date scheduled but we will definitely be planning some type of ceremony for our graduating seniors. We will be communicating any changes when we know more.
Finally your students will still be receiving grades for their school work. While staff have been directed to be flexible with their students, we still need the students to actively participate in the work. Please assist us in making sure your child is attending each day and that they are completing the necessary work for their classes.
Please stay healthy both physically and mentally and as always if you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to the school. We have many great people here that are willing to help in any way possible.
We are here to help!
While the building will be closed during the Shelter in Place time, we will still be available if you have any questions or concerns. Our office staff will be checking their voicemails daily so if you do have any questions or concerns you can leave a message at the following numbers.

PARAMOUNT HIGH SCHOOL ART COMPETITION AND EXHIBITION
Laura Ruphrect(ROCORI graduate) is the curator for the show and sent the following information regarding the competion.
Laura Ruphrect(ROCORI graduate) stated ”with funds from grants and our sponsors, a 360 camera was purchased to take panoramic photos and create a virtual tour of the High School Juried Art Exhibition! We will be presenting the tour to the public on our social media and website starting tomorrow, April 3rd. Please share this with your students and anyone who would be interested. On April 17th, we will launch a video announcing the student award winners.
The exhibit was juried by Minneapolis based artist, Leslie Barlow, who selected awards from Honorable Mention to Best in Show in both 2D and 3D. The American Association of University Women (AAUW) awardees in both 2D and 3D will also be named at that time. The following Monday, April 20th, I will contact the teachers of students who have won an award and determine the best way to deliver the checks to the students.
As far as picking up student artwork from the Paramount, we are currently closed to the public until further notice and would rather not have folks come here. Please note, that your students’ artwork is safely stored in our buildings. If for any reason, your student needs their artwork, please call or email me to make special arrangements. We have limited access to the building and will deal with art pick up on a case by case basis to limit contact with others.
I want to sincerely thank you l again for the support you’ve shown for our young artists in this community. The link to the virtual tour for your review, opens April 3, 2020, to use go to 'Paramount Center for the Arts Virtual High School Exhibition' on our PARAMOUNT web site."
