Language Arts: (Mrs. Stiles, Miss Slaughenhoupt and Mr. G)
We are so proud of how hard our students worked on their MCAP testing! Now that ELA testing is over, we will be returning to our novel unit with Give Me LIberty. As we read, we will explore making inferences, character development, and figurative language and how each of these concepts add to our understanding of the text. In the next few weeks, students will also be taking their end of year Dibels and iReady assessment.
In writing, we are working to complete our opinion writing. Students will focus on writing an introduction, multiply body paragraph, and a conclusion about their thoughts on social media.
Math: (Mr. S, Mrs. Glover and Mr. G)
The following concepts will be covered throughout the month of May/June:
Solving Problems with Fractional Quantities
Understanding the Coordinate Grid
Representing Algebraic Thinking
MCAP Math Testing will be taken May 11th and May 12th in the morning.
