WPMS 7th Grade
Somewhere in the Middle
May 19, 2023
Happy Friday Families!
It is definitely May in Colorado! Though we welcome all of this rain to our parched community, many of us are looking forward to the spring flowers and sunshine that we know are coming soon... (right!?). Kids have been hard at work finishing up the school year, and will continue working hard in class right up until the end. See below for a general run down of the end of year calendar.
Overall, next week will be a regularly scheduled week in all classes, with no trips or planned interruptions. We are continuing to finish final projects and help kids end the year on the strongest possible footing, so please keep kids coming to school every day ready to learn.
Thank you for all of your support, and please reach out to Mentor teachers with any questions or concerns.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you for all those who completed your forms, however the waivers will no longer be necessary. As soon as we have a new plan for that day, we will get that information out to you.

What's Going on in 7th Grade Classes?
Science students spent this week designing models to represent a chemical process that happens inside their bio-bottles. They came up with a variety of creative ways to represent what happens inside a mini-ecosystem to keep it functioning. Check out all the pictures!!
Math
We are gearing up for the last week of regular classes. This will be the final week to complete portfolio problems and exam retakes. The final math unit test will take place toward the end of the week for both math sections.
Panther Time:We worked a lot this week on 2 things: Our Science and Social Studies Projects that were both due today, and catching up on PFAs. The kids have shown a lot of grit this week and have been working so hard. Reminder, I am hosting a virtual academic assistance tomorrow morning from 9-11, if anyone wants to finish work or PFA's. Here is the link: meet.google.com/ioz-dhhj-bjf
Language Arts:This week in Language Arts Class, we have been working our way through The Diary of Anne Frank Play. We have dabbled in some acting, watched a scene from a college group, and even listened to some voice acting in the audiobook. We've had lots of fun, and learned a lot about World War II and the Frank family.
Social Studies: Students have been working hard on designing their Medieval Manors in class. We focused on the feudalism social structure, three field rotation system and the manor system. Students were expected to use their knowledge of biospheres from Science class to influence their design.
