Weekly Memo

Principal and Campus Updates

STAAR EOC Remediation

If you have planned to altar a learner's day in order to provide additional instruction in anticipation of preparation need for STAAR EOC, please email me to schedule a meeting. We have not discussed any plans or tools, and I will need more information before putting any direct instructional sessions in place for our learners.

Calendar Update

Monday, April 6, and Friday, May 22, are the designated inclement weather make-up days for this school year. Originally slated to be student holidays, school will now be in session on April 6 and May 22. Make-up plans for the school closure on Thursday, March 5, are to be determined. Any additional calendar changes will be communicated district-wide and will appear on the district calendar link: http://www.pisd.edu/common/calendar/index.shtml

This Week~

EOC training:

On March 26th all staff will need to attend an EOC training.

You may choose either an 8:30 training or a 4:35 training.

This includes all para-professionals as well. Paras will be released after the first 10-15 minutes of training.

These trainings will take place in the Bubble.

All Call for eNews Items

Please email me your team update for inclusion in the eNews to go out Wednesday afternoon. Additionally, I will gladly include other announcements as related to upcoming dates and activities for clubs, etc. Thanks!

Congratulations are in order!

Joe Fawcett will serve as our campus nominee for the TI Innovations in Stem Teaching Award, and Gurpreet Brar has been nominated for the Superintendent's Service Award this year! We wish you both the best of luck in your consideration for district recognition!

Summer School Opportunity

The summer school principals would like me to send names of those staff members who would be a good fit for EOC course remediation. If you would like me to share your interest on your behalf, please let me know and be sure to complete a summer school application. EOC courses include English 1, English 2, Algebra 1, Biology, and US History. As always, Summer School employment is based on student enrollment.
