Kirk Fenton News
22nd March 2019
Dear Parents / Carers,
Congratulations go to our Year Five and Six netball team this week as they reached the final of the area High 5 Netball Competition. Sadly, they lost the final match but it was very close. They showed such perseverance to keep going all afternoon and represented our school with respect. We are very proud of you!
Year 5 and 6 have had a very busy week as pupils also represented the school at a writing workshop with other schools from the Multi-Academy Trust and at the NY Youth Conference with pupils from all over the county. Within school, Year 6 have worked well together as they learned how to ride their bikes safely on the roads and both classes have taken part in NSPCC workshops to learn more about keeping themselves safe.
Errol shared their learning with us in their assembly on Thursday and treated us to a viking saga, art and poetry. As always, it was great to see so many parents and relatives enjoying seeing their work.
Have a lovely weekend.

Mothers' Day
Next Friday children will be bringing home a little surprise to thank their Mums for all they do. This activity was arranged and paid for by Friends, with support from the school. In order for us to cover costs for this project, please donate £1.50 per child in a marked envelope to the school office any day next week. The children had a lot of fun and we hope you like the results!
Early Years and Year 1 Playgrounds – Clearance Sat 6th April
If you haven't already heard, Friends are organising an overhaul of the EY and Y1 playgrounds - a really exciting project to make a real impact! We've had a really positive response already but still need a few more volunteers to help with the first stage of this - the clear out on Sat 6th April. Can you help? Please get in touch without delay so we can add your name to the list. Many hands make light work!
Also, we are hoping for donations of unwanted brushes, rollers, paint trays or empty paint tins for our volunteers to use in the Easter holidays. More details on those dates soon.
Community events
Friends will also be supporting the WI spring fair on Sunday 7th April and the Community Easter event on Sunday 14th, so come along and have a chat with us if you are there.
