Inspire Wisconsin On-Site & Virtual Career Experiences

VIRTUAL CAREER EXPERIENCE allows students to hear the backstory of one of Inspire’s many career mentors.
  • Students can listen in from a virtual platform and ask questions using the chat.
  • It’s a great way to hear how one person pursued a career that interests YOU!

An ON-SITE CAREER EXPERIENCE is a shadowing opportunity in a group setting.
  • Inspire employers welcome a group of students to tour and learn more about the company and break off with career mentors to have one on one or small group conversations about the opportunities available within the company.
  • You’ll be amazed by the great employers in your very OWN COMMUNITY!

- Grading & Standards Based Learning -

Standards-based learning (SBL) (process for the student) refers to the method of how a student receives information within a class, tasks completed for grading, continuous opportunity to show improvement in understanding to master the priority standard. Priority standards are pre-determined by the teacher, district, and/or state as to what concepts and skills are essential for the student to learn in the class. Students will find SBL more relevant because they can identify the skill or information that is required and the teacher will be able to link the standard to the lesson. Students will have more buy-in, understanding and ownership of their learning in a SBL environment because the curriculum becomes more individualized based on the abilities of each student.

As we continue our journey in Standards Based Learning, we'd like to keep all stakeholders informed of any updates around our grading and assessment practices. Please take a moment to watch the video linked below, which provides an explanation around some minor "tweaks" to our grading scale for Semester 2.
