Clark Weekly News
First newsletter of 2023!
Gratitude and Celebration!
Thanks to the family of Ayla Thieme for the yummy Jupiter Donuts breakfast this week.
Thanks to the following students who helped make sandwiches for the homeless today: Langley Elg, Isabella Elg, Anthony Prezioso, and Colin Sweeney.
Many students stepped up to help Mr. Watson with setting up new computers in our testing lab. Huge thank you goes to: Kathi Ramos, Corbin Fjalstad, Evan McCarthy, Christopher Wiercinski, and Christian Wiedrick. Also shout out to Mr. Fernando. There is no way this would have gotten done in 2.5 days without everyone!
Shout out to all who have supported the Interact fundraisers and Students4H2O bracelet sale. We are still counting up the totals, but so far we have raised $1000 for Water for South Sudan! $690 of that from bracelets alone! Stay tuned for a grand total by the end of January!
Announcements and Updates
There is still time to sign up for the spring break trip to New York and DC! email wjudd@irsc.edu for the link.

Exciting safety news! Our cameras are being updated and we now have cameras monitored in the Martin County Sheriff's Office command center. If ever an emergency, first responders would have real-time access to the inside of our building as well as the parking lot. These are a lot more clear, too, if we need to review any non emergency concerns.
There is a card for students to sign near the office and wish Mrs. Rizzo well in her retirement. Please make sure to come and sign it today.
The textbook room opens Monday at 9:00 am for dual enrollment textbooks. You need a copy of your schedule and ID card to pick up books.
Parking Info: If you are driving a vehicle that will be parked on campus you must have it registered with the decal visible. Also, please remember no loitering in the parking lot.
Reminder for those being dropped off or picked up in the afternoon… your rides need to pull as far forward as possible so we can keep the line moving. This also allows Dr. Judd to pet the dogs without causing traffic back ups! ;)
Hurricane Make-Up Days will be aligned with MCSD. There WILL BE Clark classes on February 6 and the early release days will now be full days (3/28 and 5/3).
The next Blood Drive is January 24. The donors at Clark will be getting a OneBlood Long Sleeve T-Shirt and a $20 eCard that they can use at about 25 different stores and restaurants. Sign up ahead and spread the word to all you know! It happens to be Dr. Judd's 23rd (hahahaha) birthday and she'd love to have a record number of donors give the gift of life! Flyer attached to share and sign up here https://donor.oneblood.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/1240161
Yearbook reminder! You can still order a yearbook online ww.jostensyearbooks.com but sales will end in at the end of January! We are also still looking for business ads as well as senior ads/ pages. Email jdunn@irsc.edu or agribble@irsc.edu
Book Club has selected Hogfather by Terry Pratchett as their book for January. They will meet Jan. 12 at lunch in room 129 to discuss. Everyone welcomed to come!
Clark is thrilled to resume its once annual field trip to the Florida Renaissance Faire on the designated Student Day of February 6th. This has been a very popular event in the school calendar and has been missed these last two years. $10 gets you a day at the Faire. Other expenses are optional. We will leave from Clark at 8AM and will return to Clark by 4:30pm. Many students like to costume, as do the staff chaperones so, if you have a costume go ahead and gear up. Dress codes and school regulations still apply. Permission slips are available. We plan to bring 50 kids and 5 adult chaperones. See Mr. Judd for details and slips.
Applications for new students for next school year are now open on our website. Help us spread the word. Deadline to apply is 2/28/23. We will hold Info Sessions on Feb. 1 and 2 at 6:00 pm.
Paper Tutoring is a GREAT FREE resource for any subject, including test prep and essay help... see the attached flyer with more info.

Make a Difference Mondays! No school
Take Care Tuesdays! No school
Way to Go Wednesdays! We want to shout out Lianni and Talia Brown for delivering the toys to elev8hope before the break. We appreciate your willingness to step in and help!
Thankful Thursdays! We are very thankful for our teachers and staff. They care very much about our students’ success and work hard behind the scenes to make it happen everyday.
Fun Fact Fridays! There is a full moon today. Did you know a full moon occurs every 29.5 days, we sometimes see two full moons in a calendar month. This second full moon is called a “Blue Moon”. Blue moons tend to happen every two and a half years, and the relative rarity of such an event is where the expression “once in a blue moon” comes from!
Parents and Students- Please feel free to submit for any of these categories!!! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSerigKeK1qTBIjkmbmP3L-1Kc-_UZN_mXXPKqL3uyfngb1MGg/viewform?usp=sf_link
Mindset Matters!
For those who followed along last year, these are updated for a new year. Enjoy these short videos that illustrate the point. There are also parent newsletter related to this mindset attached.

BEFORE YOU OVERTHINK, WATCH THIS (2021)
https://safeshare.tv/x/ss61293a46dbb95#
Go a little deeper to change your life:
1. In the video, the speaker said, “The only locked door is in your mind.” What does that mean?
2. Sometimes we struggle to keep going. How do our thoughts contribute to our actions?
3. Owning your life is about taking responsibility for every situation and every moment of your life. Think about and share a recent accomplishment that you can take credit for.
I truly believe in this work and it is needed more than ever in the lives of our teens... but honestly, it is GREAT info for us all! I welcome your feedback. Call me 772-419-5751 or email me ljudd@irsc.edu
