News from this week
Dear Parents,
Next week is a short week with 2 important assessments. We will review for Tuesday's math assessment at Morning Math on Tuesday at 7:15. :-) This is probably the most difficult unit for the year. We will also have a Grammar Test on Wednesday. It will cover all grammar skills covered this year; parts of speech, progressive tense, punctuating dialogue, complete sentences, and prepositions. I have a review powerpoint on my website which we will do in class. We will have off for 'Fall Break' Thursday, Friday, and Monday. I hope the students enjoy their time off. They have been working really hard!
Reading logs sent home on Monday will be due on October 9th after Fall Break.
Thank you to those who have donated treats to our class treasure box! We are always in need of treats, so you may send them in at any time. I usually have small things in there, such as candy, small toys, pens, etc. The treasure box is one of the treats students can purchase with their classroom money. If you have a question about any items you may want to send in just send me an email.

What is PBIS?
Parents,
We have an exciting school wide initiative for the 2018-2019 school year! Gwin Oaks Elementary School is a PBIS School.
HOW PARENTS CAN SUPPORT PBIS?
Be Ready
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
Family involvement in a child's education increases the child's likelihood of success. Your help with our behavior system is very important. We ask that you support our staff in the following ways:
• Please remind your child of the school's general behavior expectations each day before he/she leaves for school: Being ready, respectful, and responsible.
• Ask your child to give examples of how he/she demonstrated expectations while at school in different settings.
