Message From the Principal

Good Evening Park Village Families,

This is your principal, Mrs. Buhr, with your Friday message. What a wonderful first week of school. I loved seeing all the students and their smiling faces. As the principal of this school, I am so very proud of the work that we do with our students each day. It is our goal to create a positive school climate that maximize instructional time for student learning. I am looking forward to a wonderful 2021 - 2022 school year. Please read the Weekly Penguin News for all important information and happenings at Park Village.

Social Media

This year I will be posting on Twitter and Instagram. This will allow families to stay connected with information regarding school activities, special announcements, classroom instruction, and an emergency correspondence when necessary. NO NAMES WILL BE USED AND STUDENTS WILL NOT BE "TAGGED" IN POSTS.

Please fill out the attachment ONLY if you DO NOT wish your child to be featured on the Twitter & Instagram. If you are okay with your child being featured on these social media platforms, no action is required. Click here for form.

Arrival

Parents, please help us ensure a safe and efficient drop off by having your student ready, with their backpacks, to hop out of the car when you pull up to the drop off area . When you have to stop and get things out of the trunk, it holds up the line and causes delays for everyone. Please have your student exit the right hand side of the car. You may not park in the drop off area or get out of your car. This will create a safe and quick drop off for everyone. Click here for an aerial view of arrival and dismissal procedures.

IMPORTANT

If your child needs help getting to the gate, please do not go through the drop off line. Instead, park and walk them to the gate. Click here to see where you can park. Staff will be inside the gate to help students to the playground.

Health and Safety Protocols

For information on protocols click here. Close contact tracing will continue, following the COVID-19 decision tree.

Our three volunteer-based organizations are working together to make sure that your students have a great elementary school experience. More information will follow in the coming weeks and we will make sure to answer as many questions as possible.

This year this spot will be highly valuable. With the influx of new teachers, the parking lot will be full every day, and closed to parents trying to sneak a spot.

The Park Village Foundation is selling tickets NOW for our Annual Parking Spot Raffle every day before and after school at the front gate until August 27th.

Raffle tickets are $5 each, or 5 tickets for $20. Cash, check, or credit card accepted.

GOOD LUCK and THANK YOU for supporting our Penguins!

Room Parent's Wanted!!

Hello Park Village Parents,

Welcome back to what’s sure to be another great year! Looking for ways to volunteer this year? Each class will need a room parent (or room parent team) to help relay important information to the class, coordinate events throughout the year, and provide support to the teacher. Typical room parent duties include forwarding important info to your classes, planning class parties and coordinating other events such as teachers/staff week, collecting information, and working closely with your teacher to ensure a smooth and fun year for the students. There will be a room parent meeting for which details will be sent out soon. If you are interested in being a room parent please notify your student's teacher. It is extremely helpful for our teachers to have room parents, and makes it much easier for our parents to receive important communications from the school as well as planning all the fun things our kids love to do! Please direct any questions to PVE.roomparents@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

BOX TOPS has transitioned to digital submission! It's now easier than ever to earn money for our school. Download the app, scan your receipt, and your earnings will instantly show up in the PVE account.

SCANNING:

  • The new method of submitting Box Tops is to scan your receipt via a downloadable app. The new style Box Tops will say "SCAN" and may only be submitted this way.
  • You have 14 days to scan your receipt otherwise, it becomes invalid.
  • Please watch the "how to" video below for more information & instructions.

Here's how to start:

1. Download the app.
