STUDENT SUPPLY PICK-UP DETAILS
All students will receive
Accelerate workbooks (if available)
- Special area supplies, as determined by teacher
Classroom supplies, as determined by teacher
- Support teacher supplies, as determined by teacher
All items must be in a plastic bag with a label that clearly shows student's last name and first name. The bags remain in classrooms in alphabetical order by students' last names until Wednesday, September 16. On September 16, paras will organized bags in alphabetical order for the entire school much like we did for the May materials exchange.
Be on the lookout for continued communication from Deb about this event. I will be posting pick-up details in tomorrow's Weekly WOW.

YOUR FAQ
We are receiving A LOT of emails. It's becoming overwhelming!
I encourage you to use Google Hangout to ask quick simple questions or to share information instead of sending emails. Also, a phone call or quick visit can help us decrease the number of emails in our inbox too.
You will record class meetings and save in your Google Classroom in the Morning Meeting topic section. You could record small group or individual sessions, if needed, to review instruction.
Do I record the 10-minute introduction lessons?
No
How do I request off as a teacher?
Enter your absence in AESOP. You will need to plan asynchronous instruction for the day and notify your students/families of your absence.
How do I request off as a para?
Enter your absence in AESOP. You will leave sub plans, including a detailed schedule.
What about personal days? How do I request them?
You need to submit a personal day request form. Put in my mailbox for a signature. Forms are returned to Deb.
Do I need a sub for Wednesday afternoons?
No
REITERATE IN YOUR WEEKLY COMMUNICATION TO PARENTS
Technical Difficulties
If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please visit the OJRSD Help Desk to submit a request for support.
Attendance Expectations
Students are expected to be ready to go by 8:30 a.m. each day just as if school were in-person at EV. Teachers will be taking attendance during Morning Meeting. If your child is not present, he/she will be marked as absent. If your child attends class later in the day and before 3:10 p.m., he/she will be marked late. If your child will be absent or late, you must call the attendance hotline at 610-469-5688 before 9:00 a.m. All notes for early dismissals, latenesses, and absences must go to evoffice@ojrsd.net and your child's teacher. Have an attendance question? Send an email to the office.
Weekly Parent Communication
We will start this during the week of September 21 after we get through all Back to School Night events. In the meantime, think about how you'd like to share information weekly with your families.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING
Please review the cleaning schedule draft and make suggestions to Christine.
I suggest leaving your doors locked but open to minimize touching the doors/handles. As a result, if you know you have a loud voice, you may want to bring your volume down a bit... just a thought :)
Deb is working on magnetic visuals for your door frames. When you need help to clean surfaces, you'll put the magnet on the hallway door frame and place sticky notes on the surfaces that you want cleaned. This will help to minimize interruptions to your instruction.
OFFICE REMINDERS
All attendance must be submitted by 9:15.
When a student arrives late, send an email to Karen and indicate reason if known (e.g. tech diff).
If an email goes to you about dismissal remind the parent that they must include evoffice@ojrsd.net too.
If an email goes to you about absences or tardies, remind the parent that they must send to evoffice@ojrsd.net. Here is a formulated response that you could use: Thank you for your email. I cannot accept this as notice of absence or tardiness. Please call 610-469-5688 to report your child's absence or tardiness.
ACCELERATE PACING
The feedback that I've heard from some has been that you are looking for more substance in the content you deliver. While I shared the message during PD that we won't start Accelerate lessons until the week of 9/21, I want to offer you the opportunity to get started in Module 1 sometime next week. By doing this, you will still be able to keep pace. If you opt not to do so and wait for the week of 9/21, you will still be able to keep pace. Either is fine, but I wanted to give you the option as grade level teams if you so choose.
In order for Shawn and Mary to troubleshoot devices both in school and at home, please work with your students to login to Accelerate Ed by the end-of-day on Monday. This will allow them time next week in the event we run into issues.
Next week, all students K-6 should be at the point whereby they have logged into their account and reviewed the getting started videos.
The week of September 21, all students K-6 should be starting or finishing Module 1. Some grade levels K-3 may opt to start Module 2 if they finished Module 1.
Follow the district pacing guides.
If you feel like you need more support, watch Mary's tutorials for Accelerate. Submit the Google Form after watching the videos and consulting with Shawn. Do NOT send Mary an email!
Shawn is offering a drop-in session on Monday morning for Accelerate (see Google Calendar). She plans to follow-up with teachers soon thereafter. Stay tuned for more information.
