Principal's Message

Happy Monday Team Bear Creek,

Not much new to report which is not necessarily a bad thing. We have just a few more days before fall break and then we have three solid weeks until our winter break. 2022 will be here before we know it.

Much Love and Light,

David

Covid 19 Protocol Shifts

There are now three options for unvaccinated or partially vaccinated people who are a close contact to a positive COVID case. Below you will find the three new options for anyone who is unvaccinated or hasn’t reached full vaccine protection, like maybe they were exposed to COVID within the two-week window after a vaccine:

ONE - The close contact can quarantine for 10 days and return on the 11th day — that’s what happens now.

TWO - The close contact can “test to stay” at school, meaning they don’t have to quarantine, but they do have to test on day five after the exposure. (If it’s negative — Grab your backpack! We’re going back to school ... If it’s positive — Grab the Chromebook! The 10-day isolation starts.)

THREE - The close contact can
quarantine for four days and return on day five with a negative rapid or PCR test result.

What To Do If Your Child Is Not Feeling Well

What Do If Your Child Is Not Feeling Well

If your child is ill with symptoms consistent (cough, sore throat, stomach issues, headaches, fatigue, congestion, etc ...) with Covid-19 contact Mr. Crissey and your child's teacher and then the following protocols must be followed:

Students May Return After

10 days have passed since symptoms started, and improvement in overall symptoms, and 24 hours have passed without fever and use of fever-reducing medication.

OR

Provide doctor’s note to campus health room staff stating that symptoms are not COVID-19-related and student can return to school.

OR

Provide a negative COVID-19 test. This MUST be a PCR test not a rapid test.

As an FYI the same holds true for staff members.

Book Fair

BOOKS BRING US TOGETHER!

This fall we’re focusing on favorite series and characters, reconnecting with friends, and the unique power of books to bring us together!

Books make connections in all kinds of relationships – stories tie us together where-ever we are. Books inspire us to inspire each other. They motivate us to jump out of our seats to meet our favorite characters as they leap off the page toward us. They give us reason to support each other, to rally together as we build a foundation for a new generation of readers. Books are a window into exciting times ahead and we can’t wait to share them with you.

Let’s turn a new page together!

Our Jungle Book Fair is November 15th-19th in person, on campus!

Book Fair will be open to students ALL day November 15th -18th. And until 12 p.m. on November 19th

Student preview days will be November 8th-12th.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, our book fair will solely run through an E-Wallet for contactless payment.

Give your child a safe, cashless way to shop the Book Fair. This digital payment option can be used at the in-school Book Fair or online at the Virtual Book Fair, where you'll discover an expanded selection of over 5,000 products. Plus, every purchase benefits our school! Visit FAQs to learn more.

How It Works

  • Create an account for each child
  • Add funds...
  • ...or invite family and friends to contribute
  • Shop the Book Fair
  • Spend unused funds online or fund an eWallet for your next Fair

After the Fair, remaining eWallet funds are not returned to a credit card but instead, become a gift card balance that can be used online with Scholastic or to fund an eWallet for a future Book Fair. Be sure to sign in with the same email used to create the eWallet.
