There are many places in Nottingham where people can do sport. For example you can vist the National Water Sport Centre, the Nottingham Sport Centre ( which is located near the university of Notttingham. There are other leisure centers in Nottingham such as the one located in in Arnold ( Arnold Leisure Centre ) and the one located in Redhill next to the school ( Redhill Leisure Centre) .

Study level: Advanced

Duration: 31 weeks

Level 2 Activity LeaderBabcock International Group, Nottingham

Study level: Intermediate

About this Sports Leadership course: For staff in the active leisure industry this qualification will ensure the apprentice gains the confidence and practical skills to assist, lead and instruct participants in a range of sporting and physical activity environments as well as acquiring knowledge of the sports sector.

Duration: 12-18 Months

Study mode: Customized - run at the client's site in Nottingham


Courses also offer residential trips to locations in Great Britain and overseas. Recent examples include our Balls to Poverty project culminating in annual visits to South Africa and Uganda. Other trips have taken place to The Gambia and Italy for sports activity weeks and skiing.


Balls to Poverty - Participation in Sport (Level 2)
This course is designed for students who are inspired and motivated to make a contribution to society through sports coaching and the development of sports provision in a range of community settings.

Balls to Poverty (BTEC Level 3)
This course offers a mixture of practical and academic sessions that will provide the skills and knowledge required by those wanting a career in Sports Development.

Personal Training (Level 3)
This is an intensive course ideal for Fitness/Gym instructors or those wanting to enter the fitness industry and work on a regular one to one basis with clients.

Sport (BTEC Level 2)
This is a course designed for students who are inspired and motivated by the sports industry and who want an academic and practical introductory programme to sport.

Sport (City & Guilds Level 2)
This course is designed for learners who are motivated by sport and who would ideally like to work within the industry.

Sport: Development Coaching and Fitness (Level 3 Diploma)
This 2 year full-time course is designed for students who are motivated to gain employment in the sports industry

Sport: Development, Coaching and Fitness (Level 3 Extended Diploma)
This course is designed for students who are motivated to gain employment in the sports industry or are aspiring to become an elite athlete.

Sport: Performance and Excellence (Level 3)
This course is designed for elite level footballers who are motivated to gain employment in the football and sports industry.

Sports Business and Marketing (Level 3)
This course is for students who are aspiring to explore a career in the sports industry or potentially combine Sport with Business and Marketing.

Sports Media and Jounalism (Level 3)
This course is designed for students who are aspiring to work in the Sports and/or Media industries.

A leader could use this information to help them in the future by getting jobs working in sport in the summer, the courses help build confidence and social skills and can give the leader a wide range of opportunitys. By increasing the social skills and confidence of the leader it opens them up to achieve greater things and get better jobs in the future. Also by helping them to get jobs in the summer it gives them more money and helps them learn responsibility. This is useful as it puts your sports leadership skills to us aswell as being fun!!
