Fall Picture Day September 26th

Big picture
Photographers from Inter-State Studios will be at Hoosier Road on Monday, September 26th to take our annual school pictures! As always, pictures will be available for purchase. Even though purchasing photos is strictly optional, all students will be photographed and their photos will appear in the school yearbook. Flyers should have gone home this week!

If you would like to pre-order your pictures, please use the following link and order code.

Website: www.inter-state.com

Order Code: 70082ET

If your child is in preschool and will not be in class on Monday, please feel free to bring your child to the school anytime from 12:00-12:30pm to have their picture taken. You will bring your child to the door 10 (near the gym) and a staff member will walk your child to the photographer to have his or her picture taken. The staff member will then walk your child back outside to you.

iPad and Books Fees Have Been Posted to Skyward

Your child's book and IPad rental fees have been posted. Fees may be paid anytime via EFunds or by sending in a check made out to Hoosier Road Elementary. Be sure to put checks in a sealed envelope and include your student’s name, teacher’s name, and student ID (lunch number). Unfortunately, if you are paying with cash, we cannot make change nor can we process credit or debit cards in the office. All book fees need to be paid in full no later than October 3rd, unless payment arrangements have been prearranged with the school treasurer (Jennifer Eichenauer: jeichenauer@hse.k12.in.us).

How to Make Online Payments

If you would like to pay your book fees/device rental or add money to your child's lunch account using a credit/debit card, please login to your child's skyward account and click on "District Links" (top right corner of Skyward) and then on "eFunds Online Payments". If you have not created an eFunds account, you will need to do so. You can link your child to your eFunds account using your child's school ID/lunch number (can be found in Skyward under the "Student Info" tab and is labeled "Other ID"). Once you are logged into eFunds, you will click on "Pay for Optional Fees" to pay your child's book fees/device rental or you will click on "Fund Lunch" to add money to their lunch account. Please note that you will need to know your child's book fee amount from Skyward and manually enter that amount into eFunds. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office at 317-915-4240.

Lunch Visitor Update

We know that many of our families have enjoyed the opportunity to eat lunch with their student(s). However, due to safety and space limitations in some of our schools, district administration has made the difficult decision to keep our student lunches closed to all outside guests at this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you to look for other opportunities to engage with your student(s), their class, and our schools. There are many ways to get involved! If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jimmie Lake, Chief Operations Officer, at 317-594-4100 or jlake@hse.k12.in.us

Read-a-thon

We are so proud of our Hoosier Road Rockets! Our students have read over 35,334 minutes so far! Be sure you are logging your child's minutes as there will be a prize for the child that reads the most! We are very excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal and have raised $19,721.00 so far and we have ONE week left!

Challenge #1 The 50 State Challenge

We currently have a donation from 31/50 states. We need donations from the following states by THIS Sunday for an impromptu classroom dance party:

Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Wyoming

Challenge #2

We have 48.7% of Rockets registered, but we NEED 70% for our students to be greeted with bubbles and music on Thursday, September 29th! Each student who registers will receive a bookmark!

Follow these simple steps for registration

  1. Register your child by visiting www.getmovinfundhub.com
  2. Use School Identifier Registration Code: 5defaa04a9ccf
  3. Use the student fundraising page to promote online donations on Facebook and other social media pages to friends and family.
  4. The easiest way to donate is online, but donations in the form of cash or check can be turned into the school as well. Please make checks payable to Hoosier Road PTO.

Challenge #3

We currently have 18/25 classrooms that have earned an extra recess for their efforts in raising funds and reading! We would love to see all classrooms earn this reward!

Please have ALL donations and reading minutes logged in Fund Hub by 10am on Wednesday, September 28th to allow us time to inform the winners for Thursday!

Thank you all for your support!
