Welcome October
Wishing you a Happy Month of October
I pray to the birds.
I pray to the birds because
I believe they will carry the messages of my heart upward.
I pray to them because I believe in their existence,
the way their songs begin and end each day,
the invocations and benedictions of earth.
I pray to the birds because they remind me of what I love
rather than what I fear.
And at the end of my prayers,
they teach me how to listen.

The Spiritual Energy of Halloween or sometimes referred to as All Hallows Eve is celebrated on October 31 however, tracing back to its roots, this holiday was really celebrated as Samhain, a time where death was celebrated. As the months become cooler and the harvests are completed, Mother Earth begins to close down. The leaves shed from the trees, certain animals go into hibernation and the world slows down. Samhain was a celebration of the death cycle of Mother Earth and the honoring of the downtime between the end and the start of a new cycle. We perhaps have all been feeling this energetically in our own lives with the recent astrological events of the Blood Moon of June and the Mars Retrograde which happens only once every two years. Mars Retrograde gives you an opportunity to recuperate and refocus your energy so you are spending it on what matters most and what will make the biggest impact in your life. It is like a timeout, when you are not able to do as much as you may want to, but you get time to re-energize so you can really hit the ground running once Mars turns direct. Perhaps we have started to notice things dying off in our own lives and observing how everything is cyclic. All around us Mother Earth is presenting clues of these cycles, as the leaves change, as the spring blossoms bloom, no matter where you live, Mother Earth is responding in kind. What we celebrate as Halloween is really the celebration of death, the ending of a cycle and the entrance into a rest period. A time where we must recalibrate and work on developing our dreams and wishes before we can bring them into reality. We are all mini-Universes reflected in a human body and we too have cycles that must be observed. On the night of Halloween, it is the perfect time to release and honor all that has ‘died’ in your life. This may include honoring a loved one who has passed but also ideas, thoughts, emotions, a job or relationships that have perhaps also died this last year. On this night, that celebrates the death of Mother Earth and the cycles within us, the spirit world is more active. It is believed that on this night, the dead are free to roam the physical plane because Mother Earth is welcoming in the idea of death. Death is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, death is really about welcoming in an opportunity to create something new and different. Death is creative and death allows us to give way to rebirth. Just look at the autumn trees as they shed their leaves. The tree knows that the leaves must die in order to be reborn at the winters end. All hallows eve is the perfect time to pay respect to all that you have let go of this year, to all that you have released and are ready to birth into something new. Use this time to honor all that you have achieved this year and know that as you also shed and release, you will be given the opportunity through the next few months to create something new. The creative possibilities are infinite and you have the power and the wisdom to shed your leaves and make way for flowers. Because the veil between the world of the living and the dead will be thin on Halloween night, it is important to protect your space, especially if you are going to do any ritualistic work. You may also want to set up a protective altar using orange, brown and black flowers, fruits or candles, photos of loved ones who have passed and symbols to reflect all that you have let go of this year. Halloween night is also a great time for working on developing your intuition and psychic abilities. It is also a favorable time for creative visualizations, dream work, past life healing and manifestation rituals. While celebrating with trick-or-treating, costumes and candy is fun, why not take time to observe the more sacred aspects of this very special time of year.
Family,
To wish, to hope, to dream of better things is a state of mind through which most people look upon every new cycle in their lives. This is especially true at the dawn of every New Year.
Hoping and dreaming of making things better in their lives, people make resolutions that they will live a certain way or be a certain way, that they will make changes in their lives or how they will go about doing things. Yet, whether these resolutions occur at the time of a new year or at any other time, so very many of them remain unfulfilled or unresolved.
At this very moment there are many people throughout the world following many different spiritual paths, which they hope will bring them to what they believe is the very end of the spiritual rainbow—Enlightenment.
People traveling the various paths to Enlightenment feel that if they can achieve it, then they have achieved the Ultimate human experience. In its truest description, Enlightenment goes beyond intellectual comprehension of the experience. It is not about speculating, or theologically theorizing about Ultimate Beingness. Enlightenment means the firsthand, intimate, mystical experience of One’s presence or Oneness with the Universe. It is beingness with Ultimate Beingness itself—in the innermost center of consciousness, yet also to its universal outer reaches.
As we leave September and enter into October, our family is reminded of the many changes taken place within our world. We were blessed with cooler temperatures and much needed rain as fall set in in our area. There are many sightings of fall that sometimes we overlook or simply do not see. The Wooly Bear Caterpillars are making their mark with reminders on their coats of whether it will be a cold or mild winter. Fall Webworms are seen throughout the trees heading into the surrounding mountains. The fall harvest and reaping is taking place as farmers prepare their crops. As the month of October approached our son decided, he wanted to be scp-049 for Halloween. Of course, we had to look that up, as we had no idea who or what that was. He is our gentle reminder of how much fun Halloween can be. It is one thing to be fortunate in life, and I have been that and then some. However, really, it seems to me the great gift is knowing it. I try to every day be aware of the wonderful things that surround me.
With Love,
Did you know that October 1st is World Vegetarian Day? World Teacher's Day is celebrated on October 5, while National Poetry Day is observed on October 15. There are many unique and quirky holidays, like National Grouch Day and Hermit Day that are celebrated during the month of October:
October is associated with autumn or fall. It ends on the same day of the week as February every year and January in common years only. On the last week of October, it is the only time of the entire year when all four major American sports have games at the same time: the MLB, NHL, NFL and NBA.
October’s birth flowers are the cosmos and the calendula or marigold. Cosmos is a symbol of joy in life and love and of peace. The calendula (aka garden, English, or pot marigold) represents winning grace, grief, or chagrin in the language of flowers.
The October birthstone is the opal, which symbolizes faithfulness and confidence.
The first full Moon of fall—in this case, the Harvest Moon—will appear on Thursday, October 1. Later in the month, on Saturday, October 31 (Halloween), the second full Moon appears. This is the Hunter’s Moon, which will be special for two reasons: it’s a rare Halloween Full Moon and a Blue Moon.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer.

Ed,
The month of October creates cozier energies. The three cards pulled are for the 31 days. The first card being the first ten days, the second card being the next ten days, and the last card being the remaining eleven days. (Cards are from "Fearie Tarot by Nathalie Hertz)
1st Card: Page of Cups
This dreamer fairy, full of innocence, encourages our passion and creativity. Playing his lute, he offers his music to both fauna and flora as a sign of respect. He pays homage to his peaceful and serene surroundings by softly singing its praises. Divinatory meaning: A blond young man, timid, quiet and studious, a loyal and helpful person. An invitation, an offer, good news. Availability, intuition, mediation. A youthful love. Disillusionment in a friendly relationship, intrigue, susceptibility. 2nd Card: King of Swords:
This determined fairy king embodies power, intelligence, and an untamable will. Austere but elegant, he holds his sword high, symbolizing his power, command and authority. Like the card itself, he represents caution, rigor, obedience to rules and order. The wolf at his side denotes prudence, wisdom, protection, and independence. Divinatory meaning: An authoritarian but just man. Constancy, decision, safety and experience. An active and determined person. An analytical mind, some coldness in feelings. A cruel and very critical being, unscrupulous but clever and impossible to defy. Conflicts and sorrows.
3rd Card: The Lovers:
These two fairy lovers symbolize the divine energy of beauty, attraction of the senses, seduction, youth, vice and virtue. In each other’s arms, they embody passion, union and harmony. Questions and Counsel
Dear Katelyn,
When did you know you were psychic?
Sincerely,
I think I am psychic 2
Greetings Psychic 2,
You know, I don’t know. In hindsight I can tell you stories of when I was a child receiving empathically, but at the time I didn’t realize what was going on. I just thought I was an overly emotional child. I was 9 when a palm reader told my dad I was psychic, but I was too skeptical at that age. I was 15 when I had my first psychic download, but didn’t think much into it. Later on in college I would joke to my friends that I was psychic because I knew they had something to tell me before they told me. I truly didn’t know I was psychic until I met my mentor that would go on to help me strengthen my own abilities. On a psychic journey you have to trust that it’ll play out the way it is meant to play out. I never planned to meet a psychic mentor. I just keep researching, reading, and showing up without questioning it. So you think you’re psychic? Start learning until you know you are.
Sincerely,
Katelyn

Spiritual Practices
Diane:
The throat chakra is blue in color. It covers the external and internal throat, neck mouth teeth and jaw. It is also related to the ears and mouth due to its association with hearing and speaking, respectively. Physically, this chakra is associated with the thyroid gland and endocrine system, which is responsible for the release of hormones. The thyroid gland plays a role in releasing hormones that are important for growth and development. In addition, it regulates the body’s metabolic system, and is responsible for the proper functioning of the larynx, trachea, ears, nose, teeth, mouth, throat and the carotid arteries. When the throat chakra is blocked, you may suffer from physical defects such as laryngitis, chronic throat defects, hypothyroidism, autoimmune thyroiditis, lack of motivation, fatigue, hoarse voice, cold sores, jaw pains, gum defects, tooth decay, TMJ, cervical problems of the neck and headaches. Lying and gossiping are also signs of a blocked throat chakra. Signs of a healthy throat chakra are taking responsibility for your actions, being courageous and self-confident, honoring truth and communicating from a place of integrity. A balanced throat chakra also improves your psychic abilities related to hearing called clairaudience.
Affirmations- I share my feelings with ease and comfort.
Speak my truth and honor my commitment to it. I live in my truth, I communicate my truth, and I am the truth. Crystals- turquoise, blue agate sodalite, lapis lazuli and aquamarine.
Archangel Gabriel corresponds to the throat Chakra. He teaches us to honor truth by defending it with our commitment to speak up for ourselves and to oppose untruths. Singing, saying affirmations, eating blue foods, guided meditation and journaling heal the throat chakra.
Blessed be!
Archangels
Archangels ~ did you know...
We all have knowledge of our Angels, Guardian Angels and Archangels. Whether our differing faiths during our upbringing makes us believe in them is another matter.Christians have seven Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Raguel, Sariel and Remiel, while the Islamic faith acknowledges four.
Note that their names all end in "el". This is understandable as "el" means, "shining light" in Hebrew.
In the Jewish faith, Metatron is the greatest angel of all. Angels, in general, are actually mentioned 300 times in the Bible.
Archangels are considered God’s most important messengers in the hierarchy of celestial beings.
Each archangel has a particular dominant area and far reaching energies that can be called upon when you want to undertake a particular task.
Archangel Michael ~ number one in the celestial hierarchy ~ is the patron of protection and love. When lacking vitality, excitement and love, calling on him invokes action if you are truly ready to face your fears, try something new. He will protect and guide you as you move forward.
Archangel Gabriel ~ second in command, he governs the emotions. Associated with water elements, he calms your doubts and if anxious, he boosts your confidence.
Archangel Raphael ~ next in line, is in charge of healing. Over body, mind and spirit, Raphael takes care of its energy. He is related to the element of air and so will re-energize on a physical level, but will also boost your creativity.
Archangel Uriel ~ vibrates to ground us to the earth. He is a multitasker. Uriel is the patron of music. He is also the messenger who brings warnings. He is the archangel who greets you at the gates of heaven.
Archangel Raguel ~ he is law enforcement of the archangels, making sure all the others behave! Call on him if you have unruly children and you wish them to behave.
Archangel Sariel ~ keeps everything in order. He is the "housekeeper". You can call on him if you wish for an orderly and non-chaotic life.
Archangel Remiel ~ is the Angel of hope. As the angel, whose path it is to greet us at death's door, escorting us to heaven, when he is present the vibrations of fear, stress and drama that accompany the facing of death, give way to peace and calm

Did you know that when you sleep you place your hands on the parts of the body that require healing? Your sleeping positions go beyond back, stomach or side and each position has a lot of information to offer about your personality. Are you a Sleeping Soldier or a Shooting Star? Find out what your sleeping position says about your personality. We spend a third of our lives sleeping so our bodies can relax and reboot. One important aspect to getting the most out time spent sleeping is having a comfortable mattress, high-quality pillows, and making the bedroom a sleeping haven, free from the endless distractions of the outside world. What you may not know is that when it comes to catching those premium hours of rest, the position that you sleep in may be the reason for your recent lack of sleep. Whether you are on your side, on your back, or somewhere in between, sleeping positions vary as much as the sleeper does. Your sleeping position can even benefit your life beyond the bed.
-Above your head: You seek greater spiritual connection.
-In the Chest: You have feelings that you still need to heal.
-Stomach: Anger and furious feelings.
-Between the legs: Fear, feelings of emptiness.
-Sex Organs or near them: Sexual problems and or lack of expression.
-Under the Pillow: Hidden emotions, not showing what we really feel or our true intentions.
-Hugging yourself: Lack of affections or support from your loved ones.
-Shoulders: Exhaustion, lack of energy.
-The Hands between the head and the pillow: There is tranquility within you.
If you do not place your hands on your body while sleeping it means you are fine and in peace with yourself.
If you hug your partner, it means nothing but the love you have for them
