Annual Global Conference Survey DUE April 11th
The annual global conference for media specialists is April 27-28 at UNC-Chapel. This day and half workshop surveys emerging technologies and media content used to bring the world to North Carolina’s schools. The program is designed to help K-12 school librarians and technology facilitators better understand our interconnected world by learning with and through technology. The workshop also offers resources and hands-on strategies to increase and improve content, collection, and integration of global themes in the library. NCWiseOwl Update
We are excited to announce that NCWiseOwl has undergone an update. Students and teachers will hopefully find the new site user-friendly and easy to navigate.

Grant Opportunity
NEA's Books Across America Grants
Deadline: April 29
NEA's Books Across America is back with $1,000 grants for school libraries in need, thanks to a generous donation by Walden Media and The Weinstein Company. NEA members will be able to apply for one of 100 grants in the amount of $1,000, made available by the NEA Foundation to fund the purchase of diverse books and reading materials for under resourced school libraries.
Parents can be enthusiastic eBook advocates, so make sure to involve them in your program. Here’s how.

The Give Five, Read Five Program, may support SLMCs as they implement this performance indicator.
