Last Week of School for Grades 1 - 4 : June 21 - June 26
Monday, June 21 is Games Day!
It will be a full day of both modern day track and field-like games as well as Traditional Indigenous Games. Throughout the day we will also read Indigenous stories, participate in Sharing Circles and so much more!
Thank you for ensuring your child is ready to be outside most of the day. They will need a filled water bottle, hat, sunscreen and running shoes.
GREAT NEWS!
Thank you to our amazing OLA School Council and Ricky's, a hot dog lunch will be provided to your child today! All Grade 1&2 children will receive a hot dog, a juice box, a bag of chips and a freezie at the end of the day. Grade 3&4 children will receive up to two hot dogs, a juice box, a bag of chips and a freezie at the end of the day.
Please ensure your child
has at least 2 healthy snacks for during-the-day breaks.

Kinder kids had opportunity to see a crow up close in OLA's outdoor classroom.
He came to learn and grow too!
While the children admired the crow, they also learned his name in Cree!
The Cree word for crow is âhâsiw.

Demographic Confirmation Form 2021/2022
As the school year comes to an end, we would like to inform you that it’s time to update your child’s A.9 2021-2022 Demographic Confirmation Form for the year 2021-2022. Having the most up-to-date information about our students ensures that we receive all available funding to support your child's learning as well as current information to reach you during the day if necessary. The annual consent forms also allow your child's full participation in all activities, field trips and events for optimal learning at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic School.
We ask that you please complete this form in Powerschool
You can follow these steps to access, review and submit the form:
1. Log into Powerschool at https://powerschool.eics.ab.ca/public/
2. Under the “Forms & Fees” menu click “School Engage Student Forms
3. Students - Select your child’s name (please complete one form for each child)
4. Click on the word “New” beside the form name (A.9 2021-2022 Demographic Confirmation Form.

Daily Reminders
- taking the time to complete the Alberta Health Service Daily Checklist
- checking your child's backpack for a water bottle. There are refill stations at the school. The water fountains remain off to follow COVID Protocols.
- placing extra masks in your child's backpack in case they forget one, it falls on the ground or it breaks. Masks are also needed in music class.

On Thursday, June 24th, children will have the opportunity to meet their next year's classmates, and be presented with some of the people who will be working with them next year. We are continuing to solidify the teaching team at OLA. Once it is finalized, it will be shared with you. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for celebrating with your child all of the tangibles they do know heading into summer:
- What door they are coming in next year and where their classroom will be
- Who will be in their classroom community and cohort next year
- Half of their class will be coming for staggered entry on September 1, the other half on September 2 and the whole class community will be together on Friday, September 3.
- Many of the staff who will be working with them
- Many familiar faces
- Their Student Support Team: Their principal - Mme Gravelle, Assistant Principal - Mrs. Weller, Collaborative Response Coordinator - Mrs. Kucy and Family Wellness Worker - Mrs. Heesing
- And the so-much-more they know
