Computer Components
Motherboard, RAM and CPU
The Motherboard
A motherboard is the main printed circuit board (PCB) found in computers and other expandable systems. It holds many of the crucial electronic components of the system, such as the central processing unit (CPU) and memory, and provides connectors for other peripherals.
The CPU
The CPU carries out the instructions of a computer program. It gets the instructions from the memory then executes them. the CPU is place on the motherboard.
The RAM
RAM is a computer storage location that allows information to be stored and accessed quickly from random locations. Because information is accessed randomly instead of sequentially like it is on a CD or hard drive, the computer can access the data much faster. However, unlike ROM and the hard drive RAM requires power in order to keep the data accessible, if power is lost all data contained in memory lost.
