With London fast approaching (less than 20 days away) we wanted to help you get prepared with a basic packing list.
FYI: Mr. Frock will be handing out reusable rain ponchos to the kids before the start of the holiday break to put in their suitcase or carry-on. These will be worn in the parade if it’s raining.
Pack in Suitcase
7 pairs of socks
1 pair long black socks (marching)
7 pair underwear
2 pairs of pants
4-5 shirts
1-2 Sweater/sweatshirt
Pajamas
Long underwear/ fleece leggings for under your uniform
Tennis shoes
Money
Coat (Polar fleece/raincoat combo works well)
Winter hat/baseball hat
Gloves
Scarf
Umbrella
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Brush or Comb
Contact solution
Make-up
Chargers
Power converter
Anything over 3 ounces will need to be in your checked suitcase
Pack in Carry-on
Small instruments (Director’s will make announcement)
Wallet/ID/Purse
Eye mask for flight
Ear plugs for flight
1 pair underwear in case luggage gets lost
1 pair socks in case luggage gets lost
Honors Band and Wind Ensemble will need to have their formal clothes and shoes (tuxedo, dress shirt, black socks or Dress and black tights)
You can re-wear sweaters and shirts, but make sure you have a warm waterproof coat. It rains a lot over there. DO NOT bring a laptop. The rules are strict coming home and you might be able to bring it there, but not back. DO NOT pack a blanket or drink for the plane; the airline will have those for you. DO NOT pack anything you don’t want to lose.
You are allowed 2 carry-ons -1 goes under the seat in front of you and the other goes in the overhead compartment. If you bring a purse, instrument, and a carry-on you could be asked to pay to check one. Plan accordingly
