Life as an Enslaved African American

I am a slave. I live in a Virginia tobacco plantation. My life is harsh, waking up at dawn, working till dark, and even more chores when I get off the field. Slavery is starting to be outlawed in the north. Even if I escape I'll have to start from scratch which is no different from my life now.
