Creative commons: Any type of image, music or video that is copyrighted, but the creator has allowed others to use their creations.
Public domain: An item that no longer owns their copyright.
HOW TO CITE AND WHY TO CITE
Videos:Last Name, First Name OR Corporate/Institutional Author Name (if known). “Title of Video.” Year Created. Medium. Website Title. Date Accessed. URL (web address)
You do this to show how you didn't make the video but somebody else did, giving them credit for their work
Music: Name of performer. “Song Title.” Name of composer (if different from performer). Title of recording (album). Manufacturer (label). Publication year (N.d. if unknown). Medium (CD, MP3, etc.)
You do this to give the artist of the song or album credit for their hard work.
Personally taken photo: Last Name, First Name. “Photograph Title/Description.” Year Created. Digital File Type.
You cite a photo you took to give yourself credit.
