Dear Parents,

Today, during the BBQ, the Pre-K 4 A teacher noticed her carpet was soaked in one section of her classroom. Apparently on Saturday, the person cleaning our carpets upstairs did not notice the outside hose that ran along the side of Ms. Juliet's room had a tear and the water ran down inside the wall and onto about a 15'x15' space. That is about half of the room that is not able to be dry by tomorrow. We are still here on Sunday evening waiting for a professional cleaning service to come in and shop-vac the room and set up de-humidifiers.

In the meantime, with school starting tomorrow, we had to figure out plan B. Since the Pre-K 3 room is certified to accommodate 20 students (and Ms. Marseille only has 10 students this year), we will have Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 A switch rooms until everything is dry. We have sectioned off the dry half of the Pre-K 4 A room and will have the small group of Pre-K 3 in there (plenty of space for 10 kids), with Pre-K 4 A across the hall. Pre-K 3 will have full access to the restroom across the hall.

This will be confusing for the children (and parents) and thankfully it is a 1/2 day tomorrow. You may want to explain the situation to your child and make sure they know it is temporary. Hopefully, all will be well on Tuesday.

Our apologies for this inconvenience, as the first day of school is so important for families and their children. We are very sorry to start things off this way and were shocked to learn of this at 2:15 pm today. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
