## Interior Angles

The angle between adjacent sides of a rectilinear figure.

## Exterior Angles

The angle between a side of a rectilinear figure and an adjacent side extended outward.

## Vertical Angles

Each of the pairs of opposite angles made by two intersecting lines.

## translation

Moving a shape, without rotating or flipping it. “sliding”.

## reflection

An image or shape as it would be seen in a mirror.

## rotation

A circular movement.

## dilation

To resize something.

## enlargement

To make larger.

## corresponding angles

The angles that occupy the same relative position at each intersection where a straight line crosses two others. If the two lines are parallel, the corresponding angles are equal.

## scale factor

A number used as a multiplier in scaling.

## surface area

The total area of the surface of a three-dimensional object.

## volume

** **The amount of space that a substance or object occupies, or that is enclosed within a container, esp. when great.

## circumference

The enclosing boundary of a curved geometric figure, esp**. **

## supplementary angles

Either of two angles whose sum is 180°.

## Complementary angles

Either of two angles whose sum is 90°.
