Teacher Appreciation Week: April 25th-29th
Sterling School’s teachers “set the stage” for success! We couldn’t think of anything better than treating them like STARS during Teacher Appreciation Week, April 25 - 29. Our PTA has exciting plans to celebrate our award-winning teachers, but we need your help to roll out the red carpet!
- Monday, April 25th: Write your teacher or any staff member a note and let them know why they're a STAR. There will also be an "Appreciation Station" set up all week where students/parents/visitors can write and drop letters as well.
- Tuesday, April 26th: Take a photo of you doing your favorite subject and share it with your teacher.
- Thursday, April 28th: Bring in a treat from the staff member's "favorite list" to fill up their Swag Bag. Favorite lists can be found here: https://sterlingctcpta.com/#/favorites
2022 SIC Report to Parents
Every year, the School Improvement Council provides a Report to Parents. The report provides our school community with many of our school's recent accomplishments, current parent and community involvements, and institutional goals. While we are unable to capture every success from the year, collectively our students and faculty have accomplished much!
CLICK HERE to view this year's report. We are proud of our wonderful school community!

Calling All Graduates: Griffin Walk 2022
As students leave Sterling School, they participate in a Griffin Walk. If you have a child who is a former student of Sterling School and graduating from H.S. this year, or know of someone you can pass this on to, we would appreciate your help in rounding up our former Griffins to participate once again.
Griffin Walk 2022 will take place Friday, June 3rd @ 11:00am. We invite all high school graduates who attended Sterling School to join us! Any participating graduate should RSVP and bring their cap, gown, and other graduation regalia, or wear their college t-shirt. We ask any of our special guests to sign-in our main office by 10:45am. Having our former students participate in this tradition serves to inspire our younger "Griffins" to remain focused in their own academic journey. Please submit this form by Wednesday, June 1st.

Sterling School/CTC Awarded 2022 Bee Grant through The Bee Cause Project!
Conservationist John Muir said, “When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” With our shared passion for community living and vision for whole child education, Sterling School/CTC proudly announces that our school has been chosen as a 2022 recipient of The Bee Cause Project's "Traditional Bee Grant." By supplying us with an indoor observation beehive, this Bee Cause grant provides our school community with endless learning possibilities as we observe, up close, the inspiring, educational life of one of nature's most fascinating pollinators - the honey bee.
For additional details, check out the flyer for a QR code link to our Informational Video and a special Google Classroom created especially for parents. (Note: access to the Google Classroom is not compatible with a district email.)

VesSEL Reads to 1st Grade
VesSEL is a social emotional learning club that provides 4th grade students with the opportunity to take on different tasks throughout our school to help promote a more accepting, safe environment for all students. So far this year, VesSEL students have been working hard learning different SEL lessons while helping counselors put on school-wide events for Kindness Week and School Counselor Appreciation Week. This week, VesSEL joined Dr. Rucker's class to read to her 1st grade students! #WholeChild #ReadersAreLeaders #ReImagine
First Lego League: Calling Rising 4th-8th Grade Students
Do you know where you can go to build machines that knock over bridges, assist moon landers, organize exercise equipment, and get cargo to the right place? FIRST Lego League! We are now taking applications for the 2022-23 season for rising 4th and 5th graders and middle school students interested in building robots, exploring answers to real world questions, and excited to work as part of a team to solve challenges! Parent involvement is ESSENTIAL to the program - no experience with robotics or programming is required, and training is provided.

Hands on Greenville 2022
On Saturday, April 30th, 2022, Sterling School will be the recipient of volunteers for Hands On Greenville Day 2022. Our volunteers will be involved in beautification and cleanup projects outside and inside our school. We are in need of volunteers, but are also desperately in need of gardening supplies for our volunteers (rakes, trowels, shovels, gardening gloves, etc.) as well as snacks and water. If you are able to volunteer or provide supplies, CLICK HERE to sign up and bring any supplies to Sterling School by 8:00am on April 30th. Thank you so much for helping to keep our school and community beautiful!
