This month's virtual library celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month!

National Hispanic Heritage Month September 15 - October 15

This month celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for the Latin American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. Also, Columbus Day or Día de la Raza, which is October 12, falls within this 30 day period. To find out more about Hispanic Heritage Month, go to http://hispanicheritagemonth.gov/about/.

Our fiction books this week feature Hispanic American authors.

Biographies of Famous Hispanic Figures

This is just a small sample of the biographies available in the library!! Come by and check them out.
