Visual Supports: Visual supports can be used to help your child learn and implement structure, schedules, and routines.
Dyslexia: It's Dyslexia Awareness Month and our team is coming to talk all things Dyslexia! We'll be discussing what it is, how it effects your student, and resources that can be used to support them.
The Anatomy of A Progress Report: Understanding Parts of Your Student's Progress Report: Families will learn about the sections of a progress report.
Thanks to assistance from our TEA Autism Grant we will be providing free childcare for up to 20 children. The childcare attendants can care for children 5th grade and under. You must register your child for childcare. Childcare Reservations will close Friday, October 14th or sooner if slots are filled. If your child is 6th grade and older, they are encouraged to learn alongside you during the Family Education Night.
Coffee Chat: Friday, October 21st
In 2019, LISD engaged with COPIA consulting to identify areas of improvement for our department. We received 7 recommendations that were adopted and targeted efforts were implemented. This Fall, we have invited COPIA Consulting to return to LISD for a progress update as well as identify next steps for us. A series of Parent Symposiums will be conducted to gather information from parents regarding your experiences with Special Education services in Leander ISD. You will only need to attend 1 Symposium. The Symposiums are broken down by grade level: Elementary (Early Childhood and Elementary) and Secondary (Middle, High, and 18+). All Symposiums will be limited to the first 40 participants due to the structured protocol implemented by COPIA consulting. You can RSVP below. We will also send out reminders as the date of the Symposiums draw closer. This opportunity is for current Leander ISD parents with students currently served in Special Education.
