Compose a radio play, attend free classes, host a radio show
Join The Shire's Audio Drama Team and Write, Produce and Perform in a Radio Play
- Are you a writer? Help us create the podcast series "Hush" and write a radio play.
- Are you a SFX technician? Work on developing and performing sound effects.
- Are you a composer? Compose an original theme and set a musical arrangement for the radio play.
- Do you play instruments? Audition for the radio play band that includes keyboard, guitar, bass, violin and percussion.
- Do you sing? Write lyrics and audition for the band.
- Do you act? Help develop a role and audition for a part.
- Are you any combination of these creative artists? Then join The Shire's Audio Drama Team and participate in as many areas as you like.
First production meeting is on Sunday, May 15th from 3:00 to 5:00 at the Stillwater Public Library, 224 Third Street North. Writers begin meeting May 14th from 10:00 to 12:00 in the classroom space of ArtReach St. Croix, 224 N Fourth Street, Stillwater. Creating Living, Breathing Horses your Readers Will See, Smell & Feel Wed, July 20
Horses add power, beauty and strong emotion to a story. Learn how horses interact with each other and with people so that you can write about them accurately. Horsewoman Katie Clapp has worked as a journalist, freelance writer, multi-media producer and co-owns and operates Windy Ridge Ranch where she enjoys getting to know the personalities of their 48 horses and helping riders connect with them.
Writing and Rewriting: Revising and Editing Your First Draft Thursday, August 4
In this overview of the editing process, you will learn about the different levels of editing - developmental/substantive, copy editing and proofreading - and how to apply them to your first draft. Traci Post works as a professional editor and has worked in nearly every level of the pre-publication process.
