ONLY 1 WEEK LEFT IN THE COPPELL EDUCATION FOUNDATION’S FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN!
The Coppell Education Foundation's Red & Black Fundraising Campaign will end on November 17th. We have received over $100,000 in 2017/2018 grant requests from Coppell ISD teachers, but we are still short of our fundraising goal for the year.
Please donate to fund educational, motivational and innovative programs that benefit EVERY STUDENT, EVERY TEACHER and EVERY SCHOOL in Coppell ISD!
Coppell ISD Family Feast Drive Nov. 17
For 14 years, CISD has collected food for families in need around Thanksgiving. Mark your calendars to donate canned foods or non-perishable foods on Friday, Nov. 17, for the CISD Family Feast Drive! You also may make an online donation here. When you make your donation, you can choose New Tech High @ Coppell, by scrolling down the page as you make your donation. Last year, CISD collected 12,397 pounds of food and $13,708 for a total of 51,454 nutritious meals for those in need in North Texas.
TAMS Tournament
This event is designed to promote STEM interest within the local community and encourage motivated students to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. The registration fees will cover the costs of lunch as well as awards and additional supplies needed to run the tournament.
We are offering tests in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, general science, mathematics, computer science, physics, and engineering challenges. Our tests are designed primarily for students in grades 9-12 and accelerated students in grades 7-8.
Individuals can follow the links on the flyer to register, and registration fees will be collected during check in upon arrival to the competition site. Students who are interested in competing can contact tamstournament@gmail.com for inquiries.

**Do not sign up for a course that will not fit in your NTH@C schedule. You are not allowed to show up late or leave early from a class for dual credit.**
If you DO plan on enrolling in Spring classes, then please go to the Dual Credit Question Form. You will provide information about the courses you plan to take on that form, and I will give you the necessary paperwork for your DCCCD school within 3 school days of receipt of this form.
If you DO NOT plan on enrolling in Spring classes, then please go to the Dual Credit Question Form. You will provide any current dual credit classes that you are taking as well as provide your decision to not take classes in the Spring.
Please remember to send a transcript to New Tech at the end of each semester for which you take classes. We need these transcripts to add your courses to your high school transcript.
If you have any questions about dual credit, then please e-mail me or stop by and see me. Do not wait until the last minute.
Thank you,

Job Shadowing and Internship Hosting- Help Wanted!
Dear New Tech Parents,
We are looking for help in providing job shadowing experiences for our junior and senior learners. As part of our graduation requirements learners participate in career exploration by shadowing professionals in an occupation of their choice. Learners and their families are primarily responsible for finding these opportunities but several have requested help in this process.
If you, or someone you know, would be willing to host a learner for 10 to 15 hours at your place of business, please let me know! We have students interested in a variety of careers, so any occupation could be a possibility for a valuable experience for a learner. In particular, we have a large number of learners who want to shadow in the areas of programming or game design, engineering, medicine, law, graphic design, business/finance and psychology. Thank you for your support as we work to ensure our graduates are college and career ready.
