Funeral Details/No School on Tuesday!!

Good Morning,

I wanted to provide an update on the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Silva. The service will be held on Tuesday at Our Lady Queen of Heaven. Because of the time of the service, WE HAVE MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CLOSE SCHOOL ON TUESDAY, SEPT. 18TH. We apologize if this is a hardship for anyone, but it is important that our staff is able to be a part of saying goodbye to Mrs. Silva and to show our respect to her family. We hope that you understand and can support this decision. Beyond our staff, so many families have deep relationships with Mrs. Silva and also want to say their goodbyes. Here are the details:

Location: Our Lady Queen of Heaven (14601 A St S. Tacoma, WA 98444)

Date: Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018

Times: Viewing is from 10 am - 11:45 am, Funeral Mass is at 12 pm (noon) and the reception will follow.

Please know that parking can be challenging, so you may want to get there early. If you know of anyone who is no longer at our school, but would want to know about this, please share the information.

Mrs. Silva meant so much to all of us and we want to be there to say goodbye and to share some wonderful memories.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. This has been a challenging time for our community and for the Silva/Sakisat/Meeks families, in particular. One last item...as unbelievable as this sounds, we received word this morning that Mrs. Silva's newest granddaughter, Isabelle, passed away this morning. She was just 8 months old. None of us can imaging the grief surrounding that family right now. Please say special prayers for their comfort and healing, as well as the souls of Mrs. Silva and Isabelle.

We will get through this, even though it is so painful. As a family, we have had to say goodbye to so many in the last year, both young and old. In this grief, we will come together, once again, as a family to support and comfort one another. I hope you can join us for the funeral next week.

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey
