Breast Exams


What diseases do breast exams screen for?

  • During a breast exam the doctor will have a women lay on her back. The doctor will press lightly on different parts of the breast and this helps check for things like a cysts, lumps and bumps.


Who should be getting these exams?


  • Girls and Boys get these exams; but mostly girls


Starting at what age should someone get each of these exams


  • Doctors don't usually start doing breast exams until they are in their 20s. (the yonger stages of their life)


How often should someone get each of these exams?


  • A doctor will usually just look at your breasts during their yearly gyn checkup to see their development.

Pap Smears

What diseases do Pap smear exams screen for?

  • The pap smear is a medical test that helps the doctor figure out if there are any problems with a girl's cervix. They mostly look for infections, including abnormal cells that may develop cancer.

Who should be getting these exams?

  • Just girls should be getting examined

Starting at what age should someone get each of these exams

  • Teen girls do not need to get Pap smears unless their doctor things they should. Once a girl turns 21, they should get a Pap smear.

How often should someone get each of these exams?

  • 20 year old girls with normal Pap spear should still be tested every 3 years

Testicular Exam

What diseases do Testicular exams screen for?

  • This is a way for guys to check their own testicles to make sure their is no bumps or lumps; if they do that is a sign for testicular cancer
  • They Examine one testicle at a time. Using both hands to gently roll each between your fingers.
  • You should be able to feel the epidermis, which feels soft, rope-like and slightly tender to pressure

Who should be getting these exams?

  • Men are usually taking these exams

Starting at what age should someone get each of these exams

  • Testicular cancer is usually rare for teenage boys, but it is most common for males ages 15-35.

How often should someone get each of these exams?

  • They should be checked by every month or so.

Prostate Cancer

What diseases do Prostate Cancer?


  • They is when men can not produce sperm

Who should be getting these exams?



  • This is not necessary for some men but mostly older men; around their 70s

Starting at what age should someone get each of these exams



  • Doctors recommend testings ages 40 and 70 and in men with an increased risk of prostate cancer.

How often should someone get each of these exams?



  • You have to discuss i t with you doctor
