A Note from Mrs. Mathe

Today 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades students attended an orchestra and choir concert performed by Knox Jr. High students. This amazing group of artists wowed us with their talents! Some of them were even former Powell Panthers!

We also celebrated students from each grade level today at our PAWS-itive Awards during lunches. Students were recognized for reaching their reading and math goals as well as students that exhibit good manners. Click here to access the Google photo folder.

The best days are the days we get to celebrate the accomplishments of our Panthers, former and current!

Food Drive- Stock the Sleigh

We are hosting a food drive benefitting Montgomery County Food Bank! On Thursday, December 16th, we ask that you send your child with a donation for the food drive. As students arrive to specials for Jingle Jam, we will have boxes along the stage for them to place their donations. Let's see if we can cover the stairs to the stage with food donations!

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is exploding with jackets and sweaters! With the cooler weather coming in the upcoming weeks, we want to give you a sneak peak of what has been found this week. Parents, please feel free to stop by the front office to check out the collection, or if you know you are missing an item, encourage your child to stop by and retrieve their clothing when at school.

To help out with this collection, if you would label the inside of your child's jacket, we would happily deliver back to them if lost.

2022-2023 School Calendar Feedback

Conroe ISD is seeking feedback on three refined 2022-2023 calendar drafts. The District-Level Planning and Decision-Making Committee is planning to submit a calendar for the Board’s approval at their January meeting. Learn more and respond to a new survey on the School Calendar Process Webpage.

Referral Requests for Gifted and Talented Testing

Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff.

It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. This assessment will be administered to all 2nd grade students this month.

If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher at conferences. Referrals will be accepted through December 17, 2021. You may request a referral form from Mrs. Nixon. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage.
