Meet the Speaker, Gilbert Cabrera

Since 2008, Gilbert has been Vice President of Finance for Corporate Risk Management for Safeway, Inc.. Prior to this, he was the CFO of Groceryworks Holdings, Inc., the internet delivery arm of Safeway, Inc. operating under the banners safeway.com and vons.com.

He also held various finance and accounting positions with Safeway from 1998 to 2001, including Manager of Financial Reporting responsible for SEC Reporting. He started his career with Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Co. (SGV) in Manila in the Audit and Assurance Division in 1992.

He was also a Professor of Accounting at the University of the East and was a Teaching Assistant in Accounting during his MBA at the University of Maryland.

He received his MBA from the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 1998 and his BS in Business Administration from the University of the East in the Philippines in 1992. He is a CPA licensed in the Philippines.

Meet the Speaker, Vivian Ramos

Vivian Ramos is a dynamic business leader with over 25 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry. Vivian is currently the Director of Factset Research Systems leading Factset Revere's product strategy, growth in sales of its offering across Factset's global clients and market segments.

Prior to Factset, Vivian was a COO/CFO of Revere Data. She pursued transformation management strategies to grow the firm responsible for business operations , sales and financial oversight of Revere.

Prior to Revere, Vivian served as Director of Investment Operations at Franklin Templeton Investments and Director of Operations at Research Affiliates, LLC. She also served as a VP and Director at Charles Schwab Investment Management Co., Assistant Treasurer of the Schwab Funds as well as VP of Cost Basis Operations and Client Reporting at Charles Schwab & Co..

She holds an MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University and a BA in Economics from the University of the Philippines.

Meet the Facilitator, Cathy Mendoza

Cathy Mendoza is a speaker and wealth building mentor. Cathy’s extensive corporate experience (25 years in Corporate Finance and Director of Accounting of the e-commerce division of a Fortune 100 retailer) has given her the tools to allow her to pursue and share her passion of empowering individuals and families through information and financial education. An intuitive and results oriented leader, shares financial concepts with her audience and engages and leads participants through dynamic and interactive seminars.

Cathy has special talent for easily connecting with audiences and workshops participants, creating feeling of trust and integrity. Gifted with wits and humor and a natural born story-teller, her presentation and speaking skills are engaging, energetic and fun! Meet the Group Discussion Leader, Casper Calisin

Casper Calisin is the Managing Director at HC Global Fund Services, LLC. Prior to this, he was a partner to HedgeCount, LLC, a fund services, tax and consulting firm; and before that, he was a Senior Manager in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services at Ernst & Young, LLP and has over 15 years of experience providing assurance and advisory business services in the US (San Francisco and Los Angeles), Philippines (Manila) and Indochina (Vietnam and Laos).

He joined EY US practice in 2000 and has developed an extensive experience with Asset Management Industry (Hedge Funds).

Prior to joining EY, he worked at Punongbayan and Araullo (formerly a member practice firm of EY Global) and was assigned in various industries such as Manufacturing, Insurance, Mining, Banks, Real Estate, Telecommunications, Entertainment and Non-Profit Organization.

He received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree in Accounting, summa cum laude, from Divine Word College of Legaspi (Legaspi City, Philippines). He is a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines and in the state of California.

Meet the Group Discussion Leader, Roland Castro

Roland is the Senior Finance Manager, Finance Integration and Transformation at The Clorox Company. Before this, he also served in the Corporate Operations and Initiatives division of Clorox as Senior Finance Manager and in the Worldwide Consolidations division as a Corporate Accounting Manager.

Prior to Clorox, he worked at United Health Group as Financial Reporting and Accounting Manager. He also worked in public accounting as an Audit and Assurance Manager at Deloitte and Touche for over 6 years. He also worked as an Accountant in CJ Philippines, Inc.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Baliuag University in Bulacan, Philippines. Roland is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Meet the Group Discussion Leader, Erica Abinsay

Erica Abinsay is the Senior Executive Advisor, Advocate at DeVry University. Prior to this, she was a Home Mortgage Associate at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. She has an extensive experience in the banking industry as she has also worked at E-Loan Inc. as a Senior Loan Processor and at DEM Realty & Mortgage Company as a Senior Loan Processor and Office Manager.

She has over 15 years of experience in the fields of customer service, mortgage lending, sales, training, accounting, credit and refinancing.

She earned her MBA , focus in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. She received her Bachelor of Science, Business Administration with Emphasis in Finance from California State University – Hayward, School of Business and Economics.
