Timeline of Bridges
By: Vishal Veeravelli
Intro
A bridge is a structure carrying a road, path, railroad, or canal across a river, ravine, road, railroad, or other obstacle. Also they save time and rarely can hurt you. Without bridges, there are just some places that are impossible to cross. For example, without the Golden Gate bridge, people either had to drive around the huge lake to reach San Francisco or go on a ferry across the lake. It was hard to get on a ferry. Mant people wanted to go. So now with the Golden Gate bridge made, there are no more problems with crossing into San Francisco. This is just one of the many examples why bridges are very important to us.
