News for our Families for the Week of 10/31-11/4 2022
Principal's Message/Mensaje de la Directora
Happy Children, Happy Learning!
We love hearing children laugh and play! Working at a school and having an impact on education is truly work of the heart. Families and caregivers share this joy too! Often along with laughter, we sometimes see our children with tears in their eyes. Here at Libby we work hard to not only support your child in their learning but also in their social emotional well-being.
Our teachers and staff go above and beyond to listen and respond. Often it is a small worry and sometimes it is a big worry. We have a full-time counselor, a full-time Community Schools coordinator and outside counseling with Palomar Family Counseling and intensive counseling with Rady's Children Hospital which is available to all students and their families.
Reach out to us if you have needs because we have the resources to help!
Have a safe weekend!
Sincerely,
Ms. Hilary Cuevas

Cold and Flu Season is Here!
Cold and flu season is upon us. Health officials are warning there may be high levels of influenza compared to the past two years, when COVID-19 precautions helped keep flu infections low. As a reminder, please do not send your child to school if they are feeling sick or experiencing symptoms of a virus. Keeping your sick child home will be a great benefit for the health and wellness of our students and staff.Get vaccinated every year, Avoid close contact with sick people, Frequently wash hands with soap, Stay at home if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, Individuals with chronic health issues and/or individuals experiencing severe symptoms should be evaluated by a medical professional. See more prevention tips from the CDC.
Safety First!!!
Keep CLEAR!
New Signs! Drop Off/Pick Up Zone
Please follow our new signs and do not drop off/pick up students until you move all the way down the curb. DO NOT PARK ON THE CURB! When you drop off/pick up before the drop-off/pick up zone, cars back up on to W. Redondo Dr and that is very DANGEROUS! Please be safe and courteous for all families and their students.
No Dogs on Campus

Students Out More Than 5 days Need an Independent Study Contract. Please Read!
Independent Study Contracts
If your child will be away from school longer than 5 days, please let us know ahead of time (at least a week prior) so that we can prepare an Independent Study Contract. The contract will first need to be approved by the principal and will include school work for your child to complete so that the missing days from school will not be considered "unexcused". Please call our office at 760-901-7000 or stop by to speak with an office staff member. Without approval or without prior notice to set up the contract, the days missed will be marked "unexcused". Thank you for your cooperation!
Weekly Envelope!
Every week your child takes home a weekly information envelope. Inside are important flyers, letters, and items that need your attention. Please remove the items and return the signed envelope back to school with your child. Thank you!
Play First, Then Eat! 🥪Lunch Menu Link 🍽️
