A Note from the Front Office
We are in need of more gift cards for our Be RED program! Please donate if you can! Students love gift cards from Fika, Chick-Fil A, Starbucks, Dairy Queen, Chipotle, and Qdoba. Thanks!
Legend High School Wish Week
Each day and evening this week, we have local restaurants supporting Legend, so we encourage you to "Eat out for Wish Week.” These great restaurants are giving a portion of the proceeds back to Legend to support the cause. Make sure to mention Legend Wish Week when you order. There are lots of options for sure! Hit as many as you can! Please see the flier below for more details.
Sources of Strength Community Event
We are excited to invite you and all members of our community to our first DCSD Sources of Strength Community Night that has been rescheduled for Monday, April 11th, 6:30-8:30pm at the Parker Arts, Culture & Events Center.
Our goal is to provide an overview of the program, highlight the strengths and share about the amazing work that is happening across our district. The night will feature student peer leaders, school staff and our Guest Speaker, Jarrod Hindman, Chief Operating Officer at Sources of Strength. We hope you will join us to hear the messages of Hope, Help and Strength and partner with us in sharing them in our community and beyond.
Sources of Strength is a strength-based, comprehensive wellness program that focuses on suicide prevention. The program is based on a relational connections model that uses teams of peer leaders mentored by adult advisors to encourage students to develop strengths in their life and to change peer social norms about help seeking.
We will also be hosting tables with members from various youth organizations and mental health partners in our community to distribute information and answer questions. It takes a village to address the needs of our students, and we are grateful to our community partners for their support.
Registration will be required prior to attendance and is available to reserve your free seats at ParkerArts.org. We will also send you an invite via Google Calendar as a placeholder and reminder for the upcoming event.
