HUMBLE ISD PROPOSED 2024-2025 CALENDAR
Humble ISD’s proposed 2024-2025 calendar closely resembles this year's calendar to support consistency for students, parents and staff. The calendar was developed based upon prior parent and staff survey data that showed a majority prefer week-long breaks in October and February in addition to Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring breaks. The proposed calendar is scheduled for consideration at the January 9, 2024, School Board meeting.
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD NOMINATIONS
The Humble ISD Education Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2024 Humble ISD Distinguished Alumni Award. If you know of a Humble ISD alumnus who graduated at least 25 years ago and is deserving to be recognized, nominate them today by visiting the Education Foundation Distinguished Alumni page. Nominations will close on January 15, 2024
STUDENT TRANSFER APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED JAN 8 - FEB 14
Parents who would like their child to attend an Humble ISD school that is different from where the child is zoned to attend, based upon their home address, must obtain an Approved Student Transfer. The application period for requesting student transfers for the 2024-2025 school year is Monday, January 8, through Friday, February 14, 2024. Please visit the Student Transfers website for more information. You will be able to see and complete the 2024-2025 application beginning on Monday, Jan. 8. Applications are processed in the order they are received.
UPCOMING PARENT UNIVERSITY EVENTS
Teen Dating Violence: Thursday, January 25, 2024 / 6 p.m. / BBTC Room #300, 20200 Eastway Village Drive in Humble Learn about the characteristics of healthy and unhealthy dating relationships, early warning signs and factors that may increase risks for dating violence and ways you can promote healthy relationships. We will discuss the media's portrayal of healthy and unhealthy relationships and how you can bring awareness to the community in February for Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. Mental Health & Wellness Fair: Thursday, February 15 / 6-8 p.m. / Humble Civic Center
The Humble ISD Health & Wellness Fair will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, at Humble Civic Center. This free opportunity will feature representatives from a range of community providers to help students, families and staff maintain mental health and wellness. Guests will also be able to meet and greet with providers, and have opportunities to win great door prizes!
INNOVATIVE EDUCATION GRANT APPLICATION
The Humble ISD Education Foundation funds innovative and creative projects that enrich student learning experiences. IE grants are awarded to teachers, programs, and departments across the district.
Visit the Education Foundation website for information on the application process, resource videos, and grant writing workshops. The district-wide grant writing workshops provide tips on how to develop a winning grant proposal. Register for an upcoming IE Grants Workshop today. Submit your application before 11:59 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS
The Humble ISD Education Foundation offers several scholarships for graduating seniors. Students can apply to many scholarship applications using one portal.

HUMBLE ISD'S APPROACH TO PHONICS INSTRUCTION
Teachers in Humble ISD have received extensive training and resources to build and support strong phonics instruction across the district. Read how Humble ISD supports an approach to literacy instruction that emphasizes explicit, systematic phonics instruction.
Texas law now requires school districts to distribute information to parents and guardians about the safe storage of firearms. This information will help you learn about options for, as well as how to talk to your child and others about, the safe storage of firearms. humbleisd.net/firearmsafety.
